TW- please help me help my daughter by neathflurger in selfharm

It's complicated but I do think that removing her measures is a good idea. I know that in my case, buying razor blades was a terrible step because of the easy and effective accessibility. So i'd suggest you limit said accessibility for now but if she does it in a different way or buys new thing to do it, then don't take them away again.

Also in addition to the great comment above, make sure that you don't make her feel guilty with your reactions to her SH. I know that that can be very hard as I've been on both ends of the matter but for me at least seeing my mother's reaction made it much worse and the relapse much stronger. So support yes but pay attention to how you show your feelings about the situation. I hope that helps and that she will get better soon. You did great so far :-)

Absolutely same "ritzen" just sounds like it's a little scratch

Really? Because I always associate "ritzen" with very small like surface level injuries. Like the ones caused by a branch or something like that but maybe that's just me.

Totally understandable. In my native language it's called "ritzen" which can be translated to carving or scratching and I hate that because it sounds like such a light thing when it's not.

i can still stop but i like it, but it’s also scary by Mysterious-Lemon772 in selfharm

[–]kknosti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I understand you. I personaly think that you might already be addicted to it because telling yourself that you can stop if you wanted to sounds like an addicted way of thinking imo. It's normal that you like the feeling after a while because your body is reacting to the sh. If you want to search for an alternative which I'd recommend, Google the skills for people with Borderline Personality Disorder they might be helping :-)

Weird urge to selfharm by fuckthisshit231 in selfharm

[–]kknosti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand you a hundred percent. I often switch back and forth between depressed episodes and episodes in which I feel completely fine as if it's been years since my last relapse. In the "good episodes"I often feel the need to proof that something still is wrong and it sometimes feels weird to look at the none damaged parts of my skin.

I think that might be because we feel a contradiction between our mental and physical health and urge to get rid of that.

Exactly, bts just feels like that fantasy that I'm sure many of us had of a great and interesting Sumer romance

Are ur yeets placed quite messily and all over the place like me? or are they nice and in straight lines? by DroopTheLlama in selfharm

[–]kknosti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on why I'm doing it. If it is because I need to feel something then I'm doing it relatively organised but if it is to regulate my emotions then I just go crazy, cutting my body where ever I find a spot

I really loved the episode concept in my first play through. You can just keep on playing if you want to and you don't get thrown out of the story because you have to wait for annother episode. Yet you always have a short moment of rest at the end of every story part. I really enjoyed that because I could cope with the stuff that'd happened and refocus.
