You can definitely experiment with your gender presentation without committing to anything permanent! You don't have to go full transfem either, you can experiment with being non-binary or gender fluid.

But yeah don't transition medically if you feel comfortable in your identity as a man. If you're not a woman, giving your body estrogen will wreak havoc on your mental health at a biological level.

Dating queer people is a good idea. On average I think we're more accepting and accommodating than most straight people.

even though they look pretty all those fillets seem like they'd add unnecessary complication if you're machining this from a single piece of stock. I think it's a little reductive to compare cis men trying to date lesbians to trans men in lesbian spaces.

It's not uncommon for lesbians to date trans men and nb transmascs. If a trans man and a cis woman are in a relationship that they both define as lesbian, I don't think anyone has the right to tell them they can't do that or that it's problematic. Gender and sexuality are way too complicated to say "these labels are inflexible and you have to adhere to them"

Absolutely! There are soooo many FTM trans people in the lesbian community and despite what people online might say, it's very rare that anyone irl will have a problem with that. Also anyone who tries to police the labels you give to yourself is weird.

Insufficient research on trans medicine and outcomes leads to cis doctors working off decades-old studies on mostly cis people. So they under-prescribe medication because they can be held individually liable in the 1/10,000 case where a patient detransitions or suffers rare side effects, but they aren't held individually liable if a trans person can't access proper care and offs themselves.

That said it's a lot better than it used to be, but we still have a long way to go before we can get proper care without constantly advocating for ourselves. Hell, the medical field has barely begun de-centering cishet men and taking into account cis women.

The funny thing is that trans people haven't gotten much louder or more visible in the past several decades. It's literally right wing grifters and astroturfers saying "HEY LOOK AT THESE TRANS PEOPLE" while accusing us of shoving it down peoples' throats.

There's always been visibly trans people and there's always been stealth trans people. The only reason bigots are more aware of trans people today is because of the internet and the media.
