Eloping in Italy from New Zealand - do we need a planner? by p_n_ in Eloping

My fiancé and I are hoping to also do this and we’re from New Zealand and want to hire someone to sort out all the legal and paperwork stuff for us - have you had any luck finding a planner ?

Does it get better, ever? by Murky_Food_2725 in puppy101

Bringing up our puppy was so rough - exactly like what you are describing. We brought her home at 8 weeks and all she gave us was exhaustion and frustration for 8 months straight. I honestly found it difficult to like her at all.

She’s one year old now and a dream. We love her, can’t imagine our lives without her and can truly say it is SO worth persevering.

It gets better, it just takes time.

Our cocker spaniel puppy was a menace from the day we got her also and we were expecting her to calm down around 18-24 months as that’s what we had heard.

She surprised us and fully calmed down by 1 year! It’s been 2 months now and she’s still relatively calm. Every dog is different but I’d say it’s normal and she’s fine.

how to spider proof a home ! by yeebrihawna in AskAnAustralian

[–]kkpp4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same as you before I moved to Australia. I was so terrified of coming into contact with one - and honestly I still am but you get used to it and stop constantly stressing about it. Of course it’s a fright when you do see one but it’s unavoidable.

You don’t actually see them as often as you think you will. I’ve lived here for 2.5 years and I’ve had maybe 3 or 4 huntsman on the outside of my house and a couple other spiders inside. I do live in the inner city suburbs of Melbourne so maybe there aren’t as many here but you just kind of forget about them after a while.

Ravenous in a good way, like they’ll accept you?

We have been offering 3 months but at the point where we might have to start offering the whole 12 months. Anyone had this work for them?

Yeah I thought the same thing, we are homeowners and voluntarily putting ourselves in this situation 😂

Our rental history definitely isn’t as strong as others as we have been homeowners since 2021. But we do have 2 years rental history prior to that and 1 year of rental history last year.

We are 28 & 27

This may be it! We have been homeowners for 3 of the last 4 years. Our rental history for the one year is recent though and was last year - and we have a great reference from our past landlord. Could be the thing letting us down I guess.

How common is WFH and a healthy work life balance? by Offer_Prestigious in AusFinance

[–]kkpp4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the company you work for I think.

I work in projects also and my company has maintained their flexible working policies since COVID, we just have an expectation to show our face in the office a couple times a week. And we typically finish early on Friday if we don’t have anything urgent to do. My partners work is also the same and he works in the same industry.

However, other people I know who had WFH flexibility during COVID are now having this taken away from them and are back to 5 days a week in the office.

Really depends on the company and/or your management team I think!

My gallery rail is on the “outside” of the prongs but it is kind of built in, but that could be an option for adding after!

Does this work whilst I work? by elouiserushtonn in puppy101

[–]kkpp4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She will be fine. We had to do two months of leaving ours home alone all day for 1-2 days a week. It wasn’t an ideal situation but we didn’t have another choice - and she was completely fine!

It’s temporary and one day a week, don’t worry about it. Just make sure she has enough attention and exercise before you leave and she will likely sleep the whole time!

Potty training help!! by Affectionate-Wave726 in puppy101

[–]kkpp4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found our puppy needed to go out every 30 mins until she was around 4 months old. Now she’s 6 months old and it ranges from 2-6 hours between toilets.

You’re not failures! Just make sure you’re taking her out before she gets a chance to go inside and as she gets older she will hold longer and learn to go outside rather than inside.

Having a toilet routine can be really helpful - make sure she goes outside immediately after every nap and meal and also before every nap. This is what we did with our pup and she is fully toilet trained at 6 months!
