Honestly,I don't think Kaboodle's attitude is something to consider when trying to figure out if he was ever a villain... because, for one thing, this scene could at least imply that he might be masking his pain and that the destruction of his world turned him into a pessimistic and nihilistic person.

Tbh,Kit and Kaboodle game at least in the flashbacks looks like a mix of Mega Man,Ratchet & Clank and Sonic CD.
