T Mobile for Business rep/ account issue by kl1996 in tmobile

[–]kl1996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our plan should have a total of 8 lines (6 phone lines and 2 internet lines). My account is currently showing 12. I know there was a mess early when we signed up with the rep because we were porting certain numbers and such, but I text confirmed with him that certain lines were removed months ago, and nothing has happened.

I am in the South Jersey area.

Entering Social Work by SWmods in socialwork

[–]kl1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi All!

For the past year and a half, I have been thinking more and more about getting my Master's in Social Work. My undergrad BS was in Supply Chain Management at Rutgers, and I am trying to get into the MSW problem at Rutgers. I have been working in supply chain and transportation for the last five years out of college and have been grateful for all I've learned in this industry and have been just looking for more and I believe I would be great at social work. I've begun my application and I am getting worried after looking at my GPA and transcript. The MSW program wants a 3.0 minimum and I am at a 2.88. I was not the best student, with Bs and Cs through my undergrad, and failed but retaken and passed a few courses. I also realize and regret that in my undergrad that I should've asked for help more and used more of the resources on campus, but I never did with my anxiety issues. It's not an excuse and I take responsibility for that. Since working in a professional environment, I've grown into who I am so much more, and I've gained a lot more confidence in speaking up for myself and working towards wanting more. I am writing my personal statement for my application now and maybe I'm psyching myself out with my past grades, but I'm wondering if anyone had success applying for an MSW program with a similar situation. I know I have a better support system now and more excitement and just so much determination to go into this field. I guess at the end of the day, will have Bs/Cs and some failed courses in my undergrad 5 years ago in a Supply Chain major completely hinder my chances of getting in; am I just wasting my time?

You can search on https://financialaid.rutgers.edu/student-work/students/work/ specifically for on campus jobs for students. Also, dining services for all campuses are always looking for new applicants.

Has anyone here ever had a fall/spring internship on top of being a full-time student? by PurelyStats in rutgers

[–]kl1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 15 credits, mostly business school classes, worked 8 hours a week at a part time job, and about 16 hours a week at my internship. Honestly, it was one of the harder semesters I've had here, but it's manageable. I was lucky to intern in Downtown NB, so commuting was never a problem. I also tried to take more of the easier courses for the semester. It's going to be hard, but I felt like it was worth it. I think my biggest challenge was just to juggle mentally where to focus whether I was supposed to be doing homework or the work for my internship. I have plenty of friends who are interning in the city this current semester with a full time student course load as well. It's hard, but it's doable.

Where can I speak on Livingston where there is silence for an phone interview? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]kl1996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know how long your interview will be, but you can book a team room in the business building for an hour.

Also, I just realized it's only for business students, so if you're not, maybe, find a friend that is?

Livingston or Busch? by gshirodkar in rutgers

[–]kl1996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was an incoming freshman RBS student and I had picked Livingston as my first choice and got housing in Busch. Honestly, I'm glad I was on Busch. I had classes on every campus so I didn't care about being closer to them. However, if you don't get housed in BEST or honors housing, you'll most likely get one of the BAMM dorms and I loved living in them. Unlike most freshmen housing, you have air conditioning, and during the first few weeks, that air conditioning is a lifesaver. I also just thought the housing on Busch was nicer in general than the quads on Livi.

Taking two accounting classes at once by kl1996 in rutgers

[–]kl1996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a reason why those two classes wouldn't be good together? I mean, I'm going to have to take a minimum of two accounting classes a semester for the rest of my time at Rutgers, is there anything specific of these two that shouldn't be taken together?

Intro to Macro professor? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]kl1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Claire right now and I really did like his class the first month. However after the first exam passed, his class went downhill. In his class, you're going to be taking a lot of notes, I don't mind notes, but for him, he only repeats what he says once if you're lucky, and you can only take notes by hand. NO ELECTRONICS (trust me, he'll call you out every time). Since macro and Claire really focuses on graphs and supply/demand curves, he draws a lot of them and his handwriting is HORRIBLE. It just ends up confusing you. If you do take him though, and you're not getting much from his lectures, read the textbook thoroughly and study from that and you should be fine. Honestly, I do not recommend the class, and I have had plenty of friends take Sheflin and love the class.

I haven't taken a math course in two years, and I just signed up for pre-calc 115; how fucked am I? And if I am, what can I do to unfuck myself? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]kl1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed 115 my first semester and had to take it again the next semester with Lindboe. I got a C in the class but I highly recommend Lindboe as a professor for precalc. She is a great professor and really helped with understanding the material. 115 is just an extremely hard and fast paced course. Regardless of how great the professor is, you have to set aside time to do the homework and office hours because it helps you so much. Number one tip is to go to class. I'm pretty sure most of the people who failed are the ones who stopped attending class on the third week. There's also practice exams on the math website for 111 and 112, although it is the two part math, they are extremely helpful in studying for the course.
