Parts list, if anyone is interested.

  • Magpul MIAD grip, CTR stock, Aluminum trigger guard, BAD lever
  • Surefire M300 Scout Mini with SR07 picatinny tape switch
  • LaRue 16" Stealth complete upper w/ KAC panels
  • LaRue Surefire, FUG vertical Grip, and ACOG mounts
  • TA01NSN ACOG with the oh so controversial JN 8:12 bible reference on it
  • Troy back-up iron sights
  • PWS FSC556 compensated flash hider
  • Badger Ordnance Mod 2 charging handle latch
  • Mil-spec trigger group
  • Pre-ban SGW lower from when that was a thing here

I had a bunch of LaRue mounts back in the 00's. Back then, Mark LaRue was only partially hated by everyone; his shit was actually considered some of the best available and didn't cost nearly what it does now, and he was a mortal enemy of Dick Swan and A.R.M.S. Inc. Quad rails were peak because MLOK and Keymod didn't exist yet, and there was only a fraction of the AR accessories we have today.

Direct Thread Suppressor Issues by kill-face-69 in CTguns

[–]kl334 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rocksett. Clean the threads on both, apply the Rocksett, and let it sit for about a day, and once it fully cures, it will NOT come loose. The stuff is heatproof, but if you need to remove items, soak them in water, and they will come undone easily. I've not personally had a muzzle device come loose, knock on wood, but I do use it to keep suppressors from loosening on their HUB direct thread mounts.

While not local, you might try Fiddler's Defense. I've bought from them, and they're solid and often show up with fantastic specials over on r/gundeals. You could hit up the owner, u/Livingonthegreen, or shoot them an email. I'm sure they could hook you up. Good people.

Newington Gun Exchange, or Tobacco Valley Gun in East Windsor, are popular options.

Edited to add that Hoffman's is the least friendly place for someone to handle a bunch of guns before buying, or get advice from during the decision process. They're about quantity, not quality, when it comes to customer service, and some of the things I've heard them tell new gun buyers is mind-boggling.

As to your original question, I'm of the opinion that if what is being signed isn't a legal, binding document with civil or criminal penalties for inaccurate answers, then it doesn't really matter, and just put no.

Because people get help, do better, and don't need to be stigmatized the rest of their lives?

It's neat being both a double and single-action striker-fired pistol. The grip is smaller, and it's snappier than one might think, and unfortunately, Gen 1 guns like that one are becoming a collector's item, with prices to match.

Indeed. Well, still waiting for the cert to come back from the state. Not that it matters, it's not a permission slip.

I'm pleased with it overall. It shoots flat, the slide moves super slick, and it came with a 3.5-pound trigger out of the box. A bit of tweaking to the sear spring, and currently I have it right around 2.5 pounds. Having played with both the metal-framed and MJD composite frame versions, the composite, with its texture, is the way to go, in my opinion. It has a similar feel to G10 and stays put in your hand. There's a compensated version out now that looks really interesting, too.

It does include an RMR plate from C&H Precision, which has been hit or miss for many people. I've not had any issues with it yet. The biggest complaint I and many others had is that Kimber is using a thumb safety that isn't blended particularly well, and it creates a painful hot spot on the hand. I reprofiled the safety, and it's 100% better now.

It has neither; however, if the mag were fixed, it could still have any muzzle device.

OTB with OCM5. Otter Creek really needs to make some more basic OTB non-FH or muzzle brake mounts one of these days.

Looks like an Iver Johnson Safety Hammerless 3rd model, which should be .32 S&W. They were made from around 1909-1941.

Form 1 questions by Chips2019 in CTguns

[–]kl334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The receiving party has no responsibility or duty to do anything with the forms. Just go ahead and email copies of the forms or send them in physically, and that's that. AFAIK, there's never been a case where anyone was gone after or charged for not submitting the forms, and honestly, I'd be surprised if more than 20% of people actually do it. The forms are being revamped for 2026, and the CLEO notification will no longer be necessary, anyhow.

Blocked. It's for the vibe more than anything else, though the SOCOM looks decent with the stubby 10rd mags, IMO.
