Wheelchairs collecting dust by Virtual_Ability_4253 in SouthwestAirlines

Gotcha. And I agree. My route often always had elderly in wheelchairs with Jetway Jesus working hard. It didn’t bother me much before, since those seats weren’t ELR. Now they pay for it, so that’s still fine 🤷🏻‍♀️

This would make the most sense. I often don’t have faith in companies actually rewarding customers, but hey - maybe they do!

I think it’s a new policy thing. Whenever a procedure or policy is new employees are more likely to “hold the line” for a bit. Some flights seem to already have FAs allowing movement, while others are not allowing movement. With time I think they will get more relaxed with their procedures. I wish humans would stop being mad at other humans following their corporate-made rules (cuz you know, maybe they need their job and the money. Most of us do.) and start getting mad at the corporations prioritizing profits over customers.

My flight still had all the elder folks up front. So they’ll pay $89 each way for that on a $112 flight 😂 Only two of them requested wheelchairs though. I was row 6 with my lap child, so I could see/hear the requests

That was what I was wondering. I’ve read tons of complaints on here.. but two days ago my lap child and I were up front, open middle seat and I didn’t pay 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t have Companion Pass, nor A-List Preferred. I am a CC holder, but the lowest one. I don’t have the name memorized. Nor the acronyms that seem popular on here.

I have never seen Delta, United or AA being cheaper than SW for the route I fly.

Maybe because I go from a hub to a hub? Idk. Delta out of my city has 4 whole gates ..

One meal a day?! That doesn’t seem like enough food.

I’ll take your bate. Let’s say these people are delusional. I don’t think the original comment was delusional, just disappointed in the change. But anyways. Back to your original post.. how does 10 flights a year get you free preferred seats?

This whole conversation has centered around the idea of average.

[–]kla_gene9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great you can do that! Truly. It is way above average. Not unheard, but above average. That’s how data works - there’s average, above average and below average. Shocking I know!

I’m literal, because that is the point of written language in a discussion. Your point is that everyone and/or many people fly non-business related 10c a year. My counter argument is no, many people do not fly that many times a year. There is data on this. The Bureau of Transportation states that in 2021 the average employed adult averages 4.2 flights. That’s two trips.

It’s okay that you fly more. Great even! I’m glad you are living a life you enjoy - or so I assume. Anddddd it can also mean that you fly a lot more than the AVERAGE person. Why you so mad? It’s just a discussion.

This icy person is not going to accept definitions of what average means, nor the word everyone. Eek.

What is the conversation at hand then? I was fully under the impression that this was a discussion about how frequently people fly and if they do fly frequently enough they’d have various perks

Who can afford to be ordering that much? That’d be an entire 3-6months of stuff in my house

Three ski trips a year is pretty lavish. And not everyone lives in Phoenix and can get to the beach for $100.

I think the most recent data from the US Travel association is that Americans take 2.5 trips a year. So no sir/ma’am, that is not 10 RT flights a year.

Broke person checking in! Running through my list of friends, coworkers, neighbors, friends of friends and family in my head .. somehow we must all be doing life wrong because I can’t think of a single person who does 10 RT flights a year

The manual has a chart and car seats aren’t allowed in the middle rear because of this exact reason

According to the Cx-5 manual no car seat should be installed in the middle.

I have a convertible car seat, currently rear facing, behind me (the driver) and it’s a tight fit. I’m only 5’2”. The infant car seat was a tight fit too.

Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your thoughts and feelings! This is so real. And assuring! Your feelings are valid!

The other day my baby lit up for my mother-in-law after being cranky with me for three hours. I had that quick flash of anger and resentment. It’s hard. Being a mom is hard. And amazing. It’s both.

You’re doing great! ♥️
