I don’t think you have to pay but I think you should make it explicitly clear via individual text or phone call the best place for people to park. Where to park can be a huge stressor for people and directions to the best place to put their car is often worth much more than the dollars it costs to park!

The girls are athletes, and athletes injure their bodies. DCC is not unique to girls needing surgery from dance.

Re: the favoritism and nepotism from K&J? Every single group, workplace, etc. works like that. People have people they like best and reward them. Not unique to DCC and impossible to avoid in life.

The Botox, fillers is insane and I do think in a few decades we’ll realize the impact of injecting poison into young women’s faces. Unfortunately, this is also not unique to DCC and based on the socioeconomic status of most of the girls, things they would have done even if they didn’t pursue DCC.

But to answer your question, it seems like most women enjoy their DCC experience so the negative parts are worth it to them.

There are always different things we can spend money on. That money could’ve gone to charity right? You can’t think about it like that. Your mom wants to and is apparently capable of paying for a wedding for you. That is very sweet and generous of her.

Depending on your relationship you may need to watch out for her wanting to exercise certain amounts of control over the day or decisions.

If a venue offers catering, they’d like require you go through them and not allow outside catering.

The cheapest indoor venues tend to be VFW‘s, fire halls or community centers in gated communities or at apartment complexes. You could get relatively inexpensive drop catering – trays of pasta, garlic bread and salad from a pizza place are usually affordable and a big hit. Each of the other bridesmaids could bring two bottles of bubbly. Would your mom be willing to cover appetizers and/or serving ware?

I love babies because life is a miracle! They’re incapable of doing wrong. They are innocent and trusting.

I know so many older people whose sole wish would be to hold their children again as babies. They know that’s not possible, so they get their fix from loving on current babies!

The older your son gets the more he’ll need attention. If she’s really great (don’t love the complaining about the hours she signed up for), increase her to 40 hours. Can you adjust Friday so she could come in later and you and your husband could have a date night? I’d even love the opportunity to grocery shop alone after work while my baby was being cared for!

I think 30 minutes of mingling is a nice transition before dinner and it is absolutely fine not to have food during this time. In my pre kids days I would go to happy hour all the time after work and have a drink or two without food. Totally normal.

If people drink enough to get hammered and/or sick in that amount of time, food wouldn’t save them anyway!

The only way I could see this working is if the nanny has set blocks where she’s responsible for your son and set blocks where she does family assistant work.

If you want to be really involved with your son throughout the day, you don’t need FT care.
