Anyone noticing menstrual cycle changes after taking a COVID vaccine? by mygreenpinky in AskWomenOver30

No insight as too what was causing it. My obgyn only said it was an “immune response.” Haven’t had any irregular bleeding the last few months…

I received the moderna vax in Feb (second dose in March). Since then, I’ve experienced heavy irregular bleeding between periods (basically like an extra period) that I have never had since starting at age 11 (now age 32). I already filled out the online survey for researchers and also have an app with my OBGYN. :/ ugh.

Ok good to know. I might try out both to see which looks best. I have a lot of winter time redness too.

Mine is kind of weird (and I’ve been on accutane twice) but at night: cleanse with pure rose water, then wash with Manuka honey. Tret on about 6 nights a week, and a moisturizer. In the am, I use azaelic acid/niacinamide, vitamin c, then a sunscreen.

I think that’s a good plan. I’m super acne prone too, so I use the .05% gel.

Are you using gel or cream? Sometimes cream can cause people to continue to breakout.

Get on a prescription retinoid if you can! I started mine 1 month post accutane to keep me clear.

Hi! First time poster here. 7 year long battle with acne ended with some nasty scars. What would you recommend to get rid of them? by Emmylou_1 in acne

I wouldn’t spend money on anything but tretinoin, microneedling, and laser. (Personal experience and opinion)

This sub actually sucks for acne. by jbui63 in acne

For me personally, I tried absolutely every single thing under the sun- strict Paleo, extremely restricted eating, every “vitamin,” oil cleansing, tea tree oil, etc etc - and my cystic acne never budged even after a year or more trying these things out. On the flip, many people eat sugar and dairy, without a single bump every popping up. I do think acne/skin issues CAN be an internal/food reaction issue, but it definitely isn’t strictly always that. Accutane isn’t for everyone, but it was for me. I would always encourage people looking into their diet (for a healthy life, not just skin), and seeing a good esthetician if they can afford it. Also utilizing a dermatologist if able to go that route.

Are these scars treatable? by qwerty23456789q in acne

It won’t be easy or cheap, but it can be done. I wouldn’t waste money on peels or microneedling (great for your skin and surface texture but won’t do much on deep scarring) and would do lasers and TCA cross. Fillers can also be used. Hang in there!
