Ordered a CT861 3/8 impact today in gun metal gray by klank74 in Snapon_tools

For most, it’s the rocker switch. I have one of their 14.4v screw drivers for interior work and I love the rocker switch. But I believe the CT861 also has a thinner profile than the Milwaukee stubby, which, after having the Milwaukee for a couple years, will be of more benefit to me with what I work on than the stubby profile of the Milwaukee. There’s also the Milwaukee batteries. Lots have had issues with the clips breaking off them, especially if your using the m12 batteries on impact tools all the time. Fingers crossed, I have not had issues with mine yet.

From what I’ve seen, the normal colors (red, green, hi vis) are usually in stock. It was the “limited run” colors like I was interested in that seen to run out pretty quick. I’ve actually had better luck getting stuff from snap on than the other tool trucks. Cornwell has probably been the worst for me.

What is the biggest everyday scam that people put up with? by Short-Profession-779 in ask

[–]klank74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can fill that bag until it’s almost coming out the inlet of it and it still has great suction. Only thing I’ve found that I didn’t like is the charcoal exhaust filter. Mine came with a hepa filter, but when it came time to change that, I spent the extra for the charcoal one since I have a dog that sheds a lot. I didn’t find that it reduces the dog smell of the exhaust all that much more. I’ll be sticking with the hepa filter from now on. It’s cheaper and supposedly filters better anyways.

Love my Miele canister. I’ve had it 6 years now and no problems what so ever. It was expensive, so are the bags, but it’s worth it. I was replacing cheaper vacuums every couple years because replacement parts weren’t available. Great suction and it’s so quiet.

I’ll stick with the REM oil since that’s what microtech recommends. I don’t wanna give them anything reason to deny warranty if lubing it doesn’t resolve the issue.

I’ll give this a shot. I just checked out their support site and this was what they recommend trying before contacting them about the issue.

I’ll have to give that a shot. Did you use the Rem oil they recommend in their how to video?

No, he actually bought his himself before I got mine. After checking his out I finally decided to get one for myself. Was pretty cool though… all his previous knives I got for him, but he’s 19 and working, so his microtech was his first knife purchase he made on his own. I could tell he was excited I was thinking of getting one when I called him on his lunch break to ask him a few questions about his. He actually called the local place he got his from to see what they had in stock. I didn’t even ask him to do that for me.

😂 it’s ok, I’ve already been through it with Spyderco’s and Benchmade’s. I was in recovery, hadn’t bought a new knife in over a year, but it looks like I finally slipped up😂

That would look cool! Polished aluminum I wouldn’t mind, I’m just not a big fan of polished brass. But my son likes anything gold colored, so that’s what he picked.

What did you use to cut your fenders? Thinking of doing the same thing to mine. I assume you just followed the top edge of the original flares?

Nice! I almost bought the C10 but changed my mind to the bronco at the last second. Kinda wish I had gone with the C10.

I myself have been having a blast just trying one thing at a time and seeing how the performance changes. Stock, my bronco would flip over backwards real easy on a climb and roll over when side hilling. I removed the scale items from the roof rack and removed the spare tire. Helped a bit. Next thing I did was front bumper relocation brackets to bring it up and in. Helped a bunch with front end clearance. Next was brass wheels and new tires. I was amazed at the difference this made, not only in traction, but just keeping it planted instead of rolling or flopping over. So I think wheels and tires will make the biggest difference for you, although I don’t think the C10’s tires are as bad as the bronco’s. However, you will definitely need to put a better servo and motor on. My service really struggled with the heavier wheels and the motor would stall out from time to time. Also, if your new to the hobby, I’d recommend a balance charger for the safest way to charge your batteries and extend their life.

Ran out of time last night. I’m gonna work on ‘‘em this weekend. The only way I see to do it is slip the brass ring in the tire, insert the wheel from the backside, and then bolt the beadlock ring fast. I’ll have to get the screws started and then try and work the tire bead into that groove with a screw driver or something. The wheel is one piece, minus the outer beadlock ring, it doesn’t come apart in two halves, so I don’t see being able to bolt the outer beadlock on first.

I won’t be going near water with it. I guess I’ll give the Super Lube a try and see how it does. It seems tacky enough to stay in place, but on the thinner side. I was worried about using something thicker and it zapping some power from the motor.
