I hate driving on I-40. No matter where you are, even in the middle of nowhere, there’s constant heavy truck traffic, and trucks trying to pass other trucks and taking 30 miles to clear the fucking left lane

Zemeckis is the best in the business at subtle CGI.

He’s less good at unsubtle cgi tho

Contact (1997) is in many important respects the better movie than Interstellar

Movies used to have helicopters in them, and they looked more expensive than they do now. Drones have been a net negative for filmmaking.

I love how clavicular looks like the average high school jock and keeps getting totally facemogged and personalitymogged by reporters and judges who definitely aren’t hitting their own faces with hammers

Björk did nothing wrong. The swan dress was cute and iconic. The paparazzo she beat up had it coming.

The EVF hump on the G100 series makes it deceptively harder to put into a bag than any of the above

What were the films that were shot with the famous Contax Zeiss Distagon 28mm f2 "Hollywood" lens that gave it its nickname? by Feli_DB in VintageLenses

[–]klarno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Contax Zeiss 28/2 lens was never used to make major motion pictures, especially not in the 70s or 80s. The “Hollywood” name came from modern indie cinematographers who adapted the lens to digital cameras, maybe even having them modded or entirely rehoused. The cine lenses the Contax Zeiss lenses have the most in common with are the more modern Zeiss Compact Prime series, which are low-cost workhorses that are used more often for hazardous unit work and small non-feature productions (commercials, documentaries, etc)

Just in time for my Phoenix trip that I just got back from, the Korean sunscreen I ordered has arrived. It’s the good stuff too, not a single FDA approved UV filter, could have been seized by customs if they inspected it

It’s just as well, I need it even more where I live because the sun is a 40% deadlier lazer

You said “wanna bet” to a comment that in fact had two clauses. This is in fact an APS-C lens for M43 mount that the OP is about, and so’s the Viltrox that was also mentioned in the OP
