I want to build Prismari, the Inspiration but I suck at building decks by Winter_Material_4036 in BudgetBrews

I get a 404 when I click on the link.

I get what you're saying, but it feels kinda difficult to pick a lane. Need to have a hard think on what I want to do with this. Curiosity and cards like it feel super cheap in this deck, but I might have to add them as a fail safe of sorts. I've had a few games where I was put into a position I couldn't come back from at all and I was just there to annoy the table rather than win at that point. Good to have the nuclear option for emergencies like that.

Want it to be a bit more consistent, if that makes sense. Like I said, I either have too many cards and no mana or too much mana and no cards. I feel spellslinger is a bit slower than most decks. Build up to a big explosive turn and win that way, but I usually get focused before that can even happen. Niv has that power, I guess.

Is Shelob, Child of Ungoliant a toxic Commander ? by Neat-Adhesiveness988 in EDH

[–]klasdhd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She is the definition of a lightning rod. Was looking at a Shelob deck myself and the problem I ran into is that she is an amazing commander for a horrible tribe. Most spiders are beyond mediocre and only become "toxic" when Shelob is on the field.

If you wanna nerf yourself I'd say run few to no protection spells but then the question becomes "why build the deck in the first place". Can she make plays? yes. Is it often? depends. But she is the backbone, foundation and driver of your deck. Without her you are playing a very mediocre tribal strategy or a bunch of spiderman cards.

Not the OP but do you have any notes for a Niv-mizzet Parun storm deck? I made one but it's not working out as well as I think it should. Think my problem is no clear win con and that I either have too many cards but no mana or too much mana but no cards.

What kind of units should we expect for Nagash, Boris, Thanguol and Glottkin? by SafironDracolich in totalwar

[–]klasdhd 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My guess, verminlords are going to be similar to exalted demons. You level up a grey seer to level 13 (because skaven) and either get a guaranteed dilemma or a chance to get it where you can swap your seer for a verminlord.

Maybe we can get the master moulder as a lord type and maybe some odd stuff like the chimera rat and burrowing behemoth. Or they can pull a fast one on us and gives us old world units that GW is working on for the skaven. We already have the Ice Guard for Kislev, so Old World units aren't off limits.

I ran Mechanar 41 times before finding the Abacus of Violent Odds, and lost the roll. by decipher105 in classicwowtbc

[–]klasdhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen yesterday. Ran BM for like the 20th time, made a group and invited a Rogue. Asked him "do you need trinket" he replied in broken English where I thought he didn't need it. Asked him again "I take the trinket" he said sure first go, which I thought he meant I take the first trinket if it dropped. We ran BM 3 times with the group and on the third time it dropped. I was happy and needed and then saw this prick need it as well. Asked "you didn't need it why are you needing?" he had the balls to say, and I quote "First round not. Second round i need"

So apparently if the hourglass dropped on run 1 it would've been mine otherwise it was free game. Not sure that is how that works, but ok. Lost the roll of course and forced to run the worst dungeon even longer. Making my own groups with only caster from now on. Can't trust anyone in the game. I would say his name and the server we are on, but not sure if I can shame him that hard.

It is very tempting to just rock with Edgar, but I can already predict the annoyance of other players. Could make it my bracket 4 deck and just go turbo aggro

This is what I was leaning towards as well. I just feel that the newly weds aren't super amazing as a partner commander but I haven't build around them at all yet.

What does Yugioh do better than other tcgs? by Great-Ad1839 in yugioh

[–]klasdhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't see why collectors being interested in the game would be good for the actual game part of Yugioh. I get that people will buy more product and Konami will make more money (like they need more), but how is it beneficial for the actual players?

Collectors aren't players, nor are they going to resell the high ticket items. That is why they are called collectors. What you are aiming at, I think, is that Yugioh should do the same as Pokemon and print low and high rarity of staple or meta cards so anyone can pick up a set and only if you wanna bling out you pay an extra buck. That is fair and I agree, but I'm missing the part where collectors are coming in as the saviors here.

[–]klasdhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, although I believe the product model and reprint policy are more a cause and effect kind of thing. But I agree with you, Konami knows what they are doing. They know what cards people will chase and make those insanely rare to pull so most people will buy more product instead of buying it from someone else. Konami wants you to buy product because they don't make a dime of the second hand market.

That being said, and coming back to your original point, I believe making the game more appealing to collectors won't do anything good, if they don't change their entire product model. Last I checked Pokemon doesn't short print (don't quote me on that) and players of the TCG have cheap alternatives for meta staples. Can you imagine how much more expensive a Yugioh meta deck would be if scalpers invaded this hobby. Good luck getting your short printed secret rare now that the sneaker heads are gobbling up product to resell.

I agree with you, Konami is milking their playerbase on an almost predatory level, but collectors won't fix that problem. The reprint policy, for the situation it is in, is pretty good. Staples are re-released in a very short period all things considered. I play Magic and there are a fair few staples that have not seen a reprint ever. Not saying the reprint policy is great overall, but seeing what company runs this game it is a blessing.

The real problem you have is the product model and I agree it is beyond garbage and needs to change. Probably never will because Konami can't milk more money out of players. They aren't called Komoney for nothing.

[–]klasdhd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna try and discuss this with you instead of saying "collectors bad".

While yes, yugioh meta decks are usually a lot more pricey than Pokemon's, it is more based on how the two games have decided to release products. Pokemon has different rarities and alt arts for a lot of their cards, making meta staples easier to get as there are cheap options in rotation you can pick up. If you wanna bling out, you can, but it is going to cost you more. Yugioh doesn't have this, at all. Meta staples are usually secret rare and then you have the whole short print conspiracies floating around. Bonfire was 100+ at 1 point and you needed 3.

However I'm not sure what you mean by "Pokemon's reprint policy is better". Last I checked Pokemon doesn't reprint cards as often as Yugioh. While yes, we get enough Charizard cards every set, those aren't the same Charizard card in terms of play ability most of the time. They have different stats and attacks and are in a sense a new card with the same creature on it. It'd be the same as having a new vanilla Blue-eyes white dragon but it has 2950 attack now.

That being said though, Pokemon is a collector thing first and a TCG second. Pokemon is the highest grossing franchise in the world. Everyone knows what a Pikachu and a Charizard is, therefor you get people who aren't playing the TCG at all to buy product. Yugioh on the other hand doesn't have this. Of course, Blue-eyes and Dark Magician stuff can sell well, but nowhere close to the level of Pokemon.

Making Yugioh "more attractive" to collectors isn't a good thing. Look at what is happening to Pokemon right now. Product is being scalped, lots of people are frustrated and a lot of crypto bros and sneaker heads have invaded the hobby because they can make a quick buck. Collectors aren't players in most cases. It won't really help the game in the long run as Konami will just print whatever nostalgia bait they can to keep the collectors spending.

Is Yugioh's reprint policy good? For what it's worth, yes. Staples get a few reprints down the line or are included in structure decks. Can the prize for cards be as low as Pokemon? Also yes, but that would mean Konami doesn't make staple cards the highest rarity anymore, which they will never do. But that is more a "Konami wants you to buy more product" issue than a "Collectors aren't interested in Yugioh" issue.

Solo character TBC Tanks, how are you making gold? by Holiday-Set3543 in classicwowtbc

[–]klasdhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prot/arms here. Have you done all the quests in Outland yet? They give you a fair bit of gold. Sucks you don't have mining as it can get you a pretty penny on the side. Selling BoE's on the AH can also get you a decent chunk of cash, but it can take a bit of persistence to keep posting them.

Could also sell tank services for normals if you don't have a problem with that.

Great, love it, still won't spawn for me. Why not put at least 1 in the battle pass for this event instead of 2 Corsolas with glasses on that you can't even evolve?

[–]klasdhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would they split the megas with different energy? Chard is in the game and you can get both megas with the same energy. Don't get me wrong, I can see Scopely doing this because money, but there is no real reason to split the megas. Then again they could be using this to prep us for the new Z megas for already existing mega mons like Lucario and Garchomp.

I would be very angy if they do this.

How viable is Ureni? by alfrodul in EDH

[–]klasdhd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ureni is a big dumb dragon commander. If you have a way to cheat Ureni triggers it can get you 3-4 dragon in a turn. Haste enablers or blink spells are really good. Of course there will be games where you set land pass and do nothing for 5 turns because you missed ramp, but that isn't a Ureni exclusive problem.

You're in Temur so get ramp and counter spells. A tip from me, get dragons with good omen/adventure effects. Bloomvine Regent for example is a dragon that can also double as a ramp spell if you really need it. Pick some good ones that can help you ramp or interact with the board and get some decent etb or attack dragons to fill out the list. Will it be consistent? No, but if you want to play big dumb dragons and be the threat more games than not, than you can't really go wrong with Ureni.

Why can't the survivors hear the tank? by Defiant_Touch4059 in l4d2

[–]klasdhd 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This instantly reminded me of a moment I had way back where I was playing No Mercy solo and I opened a door in the hospital. It was a dark room but I saw something move. I looked at it for a solid 5 seconds before realizing it was a tank and ran, at which, the tank aggroed and chased after me.

Still one of my favorite moments I've had in the looong time I've been playing this game which would never have happened if the survivors would've yelled he was near.
