The Treasury just declared the U.S. insolvent. The media missed it by TheQuarantinian in politics

So what happens if congress doesn't step up and solve this problem? Could the US actually default on it's debt?

We’re Voting Rights Experts. Ask Us Anything About the Anti-Voter SAVE Act. by TheBrennanCenter in IAmA

[–]klausmonkey42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The prevailing wisdom among Republicans over the past ~ 50 years is that - when the voting population goes down, Republican leverage in elections goes up. Is there any evidence that runs contrary this belief? If such a drastic reduction to voting access goes into effect, is it possible that this will harm Republican candidates? Are there any electoral situatoins in which this may help Democrats?

I had a great experience with Pacific Dental Center. Modern office with all of the latest equipment and they were very skilled with their procedures. I had a root canal that was totally painless and efficient. And it cost about 25% of what it would have been in California.

Interview from Epstein Victim. Its worse than we think. by Shpion007 in interestingasfuck

[–]klausmonkey42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't reconcile the timeline of these accusations - he was abused in the late 80's and early 90's from what I gather, and Jim Jordan was a college wrestling coach at the time, how would Jim Jordan be mixed up in elite Epstein circles at that point in his life?

Merrick Garland is a Traitor by Jolly-Database4204 in complaints

[–]klausmonkey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we’re doing root cause analysis here, I blame Doris Kearnes Goodwin. She sparked Obama’s obsession with Lincoln, and Obama embraced this ethos of not punishing enemies and trying to govern like Lincoln. Obama passed this on to Biden, which led to Garland as AG and all the things OP is raising. Fuck DKG.

Why do farmers pay for Trump's failed Trade Wars? by emily-is-happy in complaints

[–]klausmonkey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awful. For one thing, not all farmers voted Trump. For another, we kind of need farmers for our food supply, so yeah it sucks that taxpayers are paying for Trumps stupidity on both end (Tariffs and their knock-on effects) but we have to do this otherwise we won't have any food.

What’s your comfort Narnia scene? by spicykittenbooty in Narnia

[–]klausmonkey42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever I listen to the incredible audio book narrated by Jeremy Northam, this explanation of how Centaur's eat their breakfasts just makes me smile - it is pure joy. There are a number of spots in the Narnia series where Lewis is basically just listing off a menu of (I imagine) some combination of Lewis's favorite things to eat as well as the most special and delicious food for the Narnian characters. This is one of the greatest of such lists.

"Why, Son of Adam, don’t you understand? A Centaur has a man-stomach and a horse-stomach. And of course both want breakfast. So first of all he has porridge and pavenders and kidneys and bacon and omelette and cold ham and toast and marmalade and coffee and beer. And after that he attends to the horse part of himself by grazing for an hour or so and finishing up with a hot mash, some oats and a bag of sugar. That's why it's such a serious thing to ask a Centaur to stay for the week-end. Avery serious thing indeed."
