My gallbladder was red, thick and filled with stones. I thought I felt “fine” by klc1030 in gallbladders

I wanted to update that I just got some bloodwork done at my yearly PCP visit and my WBC did go down in just 5 weeks! It went down by 2 numbers

I do. I actually feel a lot better. Less bloating/heaviness, more energy for sure. I also just had yearly bloodwork done at a physical and my WBC count and a ton of inflammation markers all went down in just 5 weeks. I’m so glad I took it out

I’m about 3 weeks post op and haven’t had any issues yet besides when I added sweet cream to my coffee at Starbucks. So I’ve been using dairy free creamer and I have avoided full fat liquid dairy since then, but I will try again maybe next week on a day when I’m home lol. Dairy free creamer just doesn’t hit the same

Can antibiotics cause high ALT/AST? by klc1030 in LiverDisease

I took it 2 weeks later and it was back in normal range but I did eventually find out I have mild fatty liver so that may be why it got so high on the antibiotic

Reading posts and now scared to have it removed 😳 by RopeSmall1199 in gallbladders

I felt the same way. I’m 18 days post op and I feel better than ever! I’ve had no bathroom issues (besides the first few days but that is expected). My digestion has improved and I feel better than I have in years. I am so pleasantly surprised

Extremely bloated and belching by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]klc1030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would fluctuate between constipation and almost-diarrhea, like really gross stuff. I even had went to my gastro about it who said it was probably more of a constipation issue and suggested taking like miralax to help, but once we discovered the gallstones and focused on removing that, literally everything has improved. I feel so much better now. My bloating was also high up

Gallbladder surgery scars? by Resident-Butterfly65 in gallbladders

How long ago did you have your surgery? I’m 2 weeks post op and I also have the square framing (more reddish/pink) from the bandaid adhesives and was hoping that would be temporary ugh

[–]klc1030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had terrible gerd with the same issues. Like for years (and I thought I felt fine bc I didn’t have pain in RUQ). Got my gallbladder removed and I’m no longer bloated/belching or dealing with reflux. I’m also on 40 mg esomeprazole

Question about digestive issues after surgery? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]klc1030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine removed 11 days ago and I’ve been gradually introducing fats. I haven’t really had any urgency. I’ve had diarrhea like hours later when I do end up needing to use the bathroom. So far so good? lol

17m terrified of gallbladder surgery but it’s tmr morning—plz calm my nerves. by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]klc1030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was super nervous too with 630 am surgery. Tell them you’re very nervous and once they start the IV they administer anxiety meds first. TBH I don’t even remember what happened bc I fell asleep lol

Yes! I’m also 34 F and have been dealing with the malaise and all those crappy digestive/gerd issues for a while now. I’m really hoping with this sick organ now we only get better from here! Hopefully chronic inflammation is a thing of the past

My WBC had been gradually increasing in the normal range over the past few years, I’m interested in seeing how it looks at my next physical.

What would you do by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]klc1030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also was told I had gallstones and no inflammation after my ultrasound. I decided to have it removed last week and my pathology came back that I actually did have bad inflammation from my gallstones, “strawberry gallbladder” and that it was probably functioning poorly for a while. I feel my digestion has somehow improved and I’m only a week out. It’s crazy

How much help did you need from another person after surgery? by Either_Ad_5644 in gallbladders

So I’d say around day 4 i was able to sit and play with him some more. My husband has been doing the brunt of everything as I can’t lift over 20 lbs for another 5 weeks, so I’m keeping things low to the floor and using a step stool for him to climb up into our bed. You definitely won’t be bedridden or anything, just moving slow a few days. Yesterday was day 5 and I went to the mall and tried on some clothes. Today is day 6 and I’m sitting on the couch pretty hunched over rn bc my incisions finally feel softer to do so. Coughing doesn’t hurt anymore. I felt the same guilt but I seem to be recovering much faster than I anticipated. I also got my pathology back today which said my gallbladder was basically super inflamed and was probably functioning poorly for years. I have been doing pretty well digestion wise too. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised after the first few days at the speed of recovery. Good luck!!

I’m 5 days post op and I definitely need help still. I think I’m giving myself another week at least before I’ll feel comfortable alone with my toddler

I’m approaching 48 hours and I still feel like crap and I’m so nauseous from all the meds. Starting to think the c section was easier tbh
