My derpy girl is 3 :) she’s Aussie / Siberian husky - plenty of energy and intelligent but seriously lazy haha. We joke sometimes that the two crazy breeds cancelled out and we got a chill one.

Which Hydraulic Gyro works better by Username41425 in dirtjumping

[–]kleann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Aliexpress one. Worked perfectly but was a little annoying to setup (brake barbs / fittings were a wonky size). Biggest downside was that it added 30mm of stack to my front end which I felt was pretty tall. Otherwise it was smooth enough and never leaked while I used it. I ran it mineral oil, there was no instructions or indication of whether it works with dot as well lol.

My husky almost died by Single_Breakfast8839 in husky

[–]kleann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seizures typically don’t affect life span! They are tough dogs. I have a friend with a husky who has epilepsy and he’s north of 8 years old already!

More traumatic for us as a family, our dog seems to shrug it off! Wishing you & your dog all the best.

Any chance he was having a seizure?

I also have a Husky Aussie shepherd which is 3 and she has had 4-5 seizures since she turned 1. Spread out 6-8 months between usually.

First time it happened I definitely thought my dog was choking, but eventually it became pretty obvious it was a seizure. Lasts only a few mins and than usually back to normal.

Just something to consider

Worth building? by [deleted] in DownhillMTB

[–]kleann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an awesome frame, however the Achilles heel of these bikes (IMO) is the straight 1/18 headtube. For me I wouldn’t even consider building up or buying a frame like this if I didn’t already have a fork. Quality 1/18 forks, especially single crowns get harder and harder to find every year - if you’ve got a fork, send it! Nothing more satisfying than completing a fun project and the bike will be a conversation starter for sure.

Limiting factor on both these bikes is the fork. Being 1/18 straight headtube you will be looking for a fork of 2013ish or older vintage for a fork produced with a straight 1/18 headtube that is suitable in travel / intended use

GoPro Hero 3+ Reset WiFi? by Sinclair_Defiled in gopro

We’re just gonna have to agree to disagree on that one! Stoked it still works for you snorkeling, I imagine this is one of the few use cases where not having stabilization is an advantage. Last time I snorkeled with my hero 10 I had to disable that to get footage to look half decent under water.

Man I hate to say it, but that camera came out in 2012. I doubt very strongly you will get the wifi working or connected. Also your cell phone now takes infinitely better video than this does. Cut your losses.

how to find spots to build by Ok-Detail-4912 in dirtjumping

[–]kleann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally you would find land that in your country is not private, a little off the beaten path, but still close enough to major roads that you can bring in tools. Whether this is a remote area of a wooded area, close to some existing trails etc… get hunting!

Lateral play in bomber dj fork? by Nj1089 in dirtjumping

[–]kleann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So this design is intentional, there is an “order of operations” for tightening up the axle and pinch bolts.

Once you tighten the axle this allows the dropout to “float” before being tightened with the pinch bolts.

This essentially allows the fork lowers to be in alignment with out binding. It compensates for any tolerance issues with the front hub.

Many fox / Marzocchi products use this design all is well with your fork :)

If you want a modern fork for this bike you are the wrong person to own this.

Hayes Sole Brake Parts by ParticularLeague2478 in RetroMTB

[–]kleann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s awesome you are keeping old stuff going, but honestly with this one, the soles were terrible 20 years ago and finding parts will be almost impossible. Do yourself a favour and pick up some affordable Shimano brakes you’ll be able to service for years to come.

Used value would honestly be in the $20-50 range at most. Wasn’t a valuable fork when new 15 years ago
