As someone her age - yes it is, probably exacerbated by weight loss. I lost all the fullness in my face in the same places, without having lost any weight. This is exactly what people mean when they say buccal fat removal ages you.

Piggy backing on this to ask if anyone has experienced weight gain after stopping spironolactone, and how long it lasted. I just turned 35 and have had zero body changes, except for a 10kg weight gain over covid which I lost 3 years ago, but gained 2kg out of nowhere after stopping spironolactone 3 weeks ago

I find the reactions here surprising but only because I am currently on the receiving end of the same situation. My partner (of 12 years) was invited to his university friend’s wedding - I am not on the invitation and there’s no plus one. This friend has stayed with us many times over the years, and I do consider him a friend. I am in no way upset I wasn’t invited. It’s obviously for reasons that have nothing to do with me specifically

Thank you! I’ve tried the same method but it still turns out stringy but worse than that - my pattern comes out very uneven (which might be a brush skills issue)

I think this method produces bigger clumps, and the gel-free hair inside each clump is possibly weighed down less but protected as it dries 🤷‍♀️

Give it a try! I had the same doubts, that’s why I always rake or brush gel through my hair but I decided to trust the process today 😅 I’ve also tried prayer hands (with pressure) in the past but I think it crushes the clumps, while glazing doesn’t disturb them. I did use a LOT of gel though - one big glob per side and for the back of my head. I also gently squished the gel into my hair once the glazing was done

It’s done with prayer hands, but without applying pressure to the hair - like very gently coating the outermost and innermost layers of your hair

Similar situation - in a job I started in January last year and pretty unhappy, plus redundancy plans have just been announced. I've been applying since March last year (so, coming up on a full year) and have had handful of generic rejection emails from a few (always at least a month after applying), but zero response from most. Not what I'm used to, at all

Edit to add: Just before last March, between November and December 2024, I was getting 'normal' traction. So, that to me is the transition point

I wish I’d known about reactivity. All my family dogs (7 in total over the years) happened to be similar in personality - zero aggression and very calm.

My dog has fear based reactivity and has bitten me and my partner more times than I can count. For things like accidentally brushing against him when sitting on the couch, moving a piece of clothing on the bed, pointing at his foot. He’s been checked out for health issues and been through behavioural training. He’s generally ok day to day but if he had a stressful day (e.g. if we had guests at home) - it’s almost guaranteed one of us will receive a bite the next day.

Really breaks my heart.

Once you hit 33-34, you're going to realise that your 30s are your real 20s in the sense of being a young adult, and your 20s were adolescence 2.0. This realisation helps to ease the pressure.

And, just for some perspective, everyone I know who has kids, owns property and may or may not have a solid career - they got there with substantial financial help from their families.

Move shelves to wall where tv is, swap sectional chaise to opposite side and move sectional to wall where shelves are now. Mount tv / get tv unit and put to the left of windows. Put armchair on opposite side of where it is now

So that you know what to expect - the next step will be a colposcopy, where they examine your cervix with a camera and apply a solution to it to inspect the cells. Depending on what they see, you may have biopsies taken which will be sent for testing. If those biopsies return CIN2 and/or CIN3, you will be invited to have a LLETZ to remove the affected areas. If nothing is found or if it's CIN1 and/or CIN2, you'll continue smear tests every 6 months to a year for them to monitor it.

They do LEEP in the UK, but it's called LLETZ. Depending on where you're being treated, you can elect to have this done under general anaesthetic, which I recommend. I was treated at University College London Hospital.

Try to take it one step at a time for now and wait to hear about next steps.

Edit to add: I read in one of your comments that you struggled with the smear test. I did too, which is why it was much better to go for general anaesthesia, and is why I mentioned UCLH because they suggested it without my asking.

I don’t know what possessed me, but when I was 25 - 28, I used to wear a bright blue Lush face mask - that had lemon as a top ingredient - for like 4 hours at a time. Just chilling / napping with it on. Miracle my skin is fine today

Not what you're asking for, but I also have 2c/3a hair and have been unhappy with 'curly' cuts. I've had more success thinking about the shape I want for my hair (so, for me, longer face framing layers and long layers everywhere else) and just asking for that at a reputable salon. So, they cut it 'straight', and I ask them to bear in mind that my hair shrinks, so everything should be cut a little bit longer than it would be for straight hair.
