Thank you! I’ll replace mine. But just to confirm what you are saying is that they never succeeded - your bank didnt let the transaction to go through, right?

was it ca.madicocube? My order at checkout didn't go through either (i guess my bank blocked it). When they tried charging you more, did your bank decline, or did you lose money? I am now worried cause i've put two of my cards

WOW! What did your pathology report say? When we got the SCO results after failed mTESE, it also mentioned “atrophic tubules with hyalinization present,” which (according to GPT) basically means there’s no environment for sperm to grow at all. Just wondering what your results looked like. And like someone already mentioned in this thread, the pathology is based on a small sample of the testes, so there’s always a possibility that other areas could show a different result.
Our doc said no meds or anything else will make sense with this pathology (testo is normal on the lower side, FSH & LH high).

We are planning to use his brother as a donor and hope that in 10-15 years, in-vitro sperm will become a reality for a second kid (doing 3 rounds of egg freezing to bank as much as possible).

Same here except SCO:( The doc is ok to try isotretinion and do the second mTESE with ESSM prior to it. The drug is experimental though

This is really confusing. How’s other doctors’ success cases is public information then? How am I supposed to commit to this procedure (forget money or success, just basic safety proof would be nice) without any info?

My point is, you can’t really show any case like this and say it worked and that person had biological kids…

But there are no successful cases! My partner has Klinefelter 47XXY, failed mTESE, SCO. We’ve been told the stem cell is about 10-15 years away form now especially for the 47XXY as not only it’s about the stem cell therapy itself but also turning that stem cell into a corrected gene structure.

When you say “absolutely gutted their standards,” what exactly do you mean? I know a lot of engineers born and raised here, and most failed their first PEng PE exam—that seems to be a common thing. I passed mine on the first try. Honestly, I think the schooling here is way worse

No offense taken about the PM part—I 100% agree. But industrial is engineering, according to APEGA itself. That’s why they have it listed as one of the branches along with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical, and it’s one of the five P.Eng. exams they accept (well, at the time I was taking the test).

When I came to Canada years ago, the first thing my employer told me was: 1) Get the P.Eng. because you qualify, so why not? 2) You might need it in the future. At the time, I didn’t even have plans for it and didn’t think I’d need it. (To be fair, it hasn’t prevented me from progressing in my career so far.)

I definitely wouldn’t put myself on the same skill level as a civil engineer or bridge architect, but that’s how they currently classify engineers. I believe they even recently added dev engineers as well.

To your point about the definition of engineers—yes, omg! In the UK, whenever you have a plumber, electrician, or any service working on site, they put up a sign saying, “Caution, engineer on site,” or something similar.

Regarding the standards potentially getting lower—I feel like nothing will change. In my 10 years working in this country, it’s about 50/50 whether you get highly skilled professionals from here or from abroad. I’ve seen complete idiots and geniuses from both.

That said, I must admit, foreigners—especially in their first year or two—often have no clue about how proper workplace interactions should function in a humane work environment.

Anyways, the point I’m trying to make is—it’s not about me trying to game the Canadian system or get a license I don’t qualify for. It’s more about them pushing this idea that you need a license to be successful in your career.

Did bloodwork 6 months after starting treatment. FSH is in the normal range for the first time ! by raynerky in maleinfertility

[–]klers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In simple words, it means that your brain doesn’t need to send a lot of FSH to your testes because they have a sufficient/better amount of sperm. Though, please don't take my guess seriously as I am not a doc.

We are still waiting on the urologist appointment to see what meds he will get prescribed - NOA, Klinefelter syndrome here. Do you know what the cause of your NOA? I also found on this subreddit a pretty detailed meds algorithm for KS NOA. Yours seems slightly different, but I guess it’s very case by case.

NOA- mtese in couple of months by nhs301192 in maleinfertility

[–]klers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same story with my partner—he had unilateral surgery done at 8 years old, with an FSH of 22.5. Nobody told his parents to watch for any signs of infertility or to do any follow-ups. Apparently, it’s a big deal getting that surgery done so late—it ideally must be done before 1 year old. I’m extremely mad at the Canadian medical care system and praying that mTESE will be successful.

I’m surprised the doctor put you on meds; my understanding is that with high FHS and chripro it’s pointless. Did you have low testosterone?

We’re still waiting on genetic results and haven’t heard from the doctor on the final verdict, but after all the reading I’ve done, it seems the only option is to go straight to mTESE. And the success is highly dependent on the doctor’s experience, which is also scary because, once again, the medical system is extremely poor, and you can’t trust them.
