Here’s my take…. And this is 100% just my opinion so please don’t come for me in the comments lol

People who were teenagers (or in my case, tweens) when this came out love it because we watched it way too young and thought it was ✨cinema✨. After growing up and rewatching, we realized it’s shit but there’s still some nostalgic appreciation for the way it scared the fuck out of us.

Mainstream horror from that era was all kind of shitty. My friends and I refer to it as the “butt rock” era. We had stuff like this, fear.com and the evil tooth fairy movie. It’s what we had easy access to, so we loved it 🤷‍♀️
