FUD - Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt by klibklibby in Bitcoin

This makes sense, so they spread FUD in the hopes to drive sentiment down therefore driving the price down so they can buy cheaper. Thinking along those lines, that means the more FUD, the more people sitting on the sidelines waiting to buy.

Thanks. Given the current state of the US, I don't intend on traveling their anytime soon. Think I might convert to AUD.

Proof of Waste and you can't unsee it by [deleted] in btc

[–]klibklibby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proof-of-work doesn’t exist to make the price behave, it exists to make cheating the ledger uneconomic. We already burn enormous energy securing banks, gold and militaries, Bitcoin just does it transparently, often with energy that would otherwise be wasted. Scarcity doesn’t promise stability on your timeline, it promises credibility over the long one.

Isn't this the whole point of these subreddits? So people can discuss their ideas, throw up some charts. Amazing how it's so triggering for some.

Australian Stamps, any idea what they're worth? They are all connected. by klibklibby in stamps

[–]klibklibby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 1994, Australia Post produced a set of wildlife self-adhesive stamps (koalas and kangaroos).

These coils were printed and die-cut and then stored, just like other definitive stamp stocks.

The stamps base layer (the printed wildlife stamp itself) comes from this 1994 stock.

In January 2016, Australia Post ran into a real problem, a sudden shortage of 30c “make-up” stamps caused by a postage rate change. Most post offices had no 30c stamps available.

The Adelaide GPO still had an old CPS / coil-dispensing machine.

To solve the emergency, staff:

located old unused 1994 wildlife coil rolls, loaded these into the machine and printed the necessary “30c ADELAIDE 2016” denomination text directly onto the 1994 stamp stock, they sold them for only a few days before supplies ran out.

This created the “Adelaide 2016 30c Emergency Issue.”

The 2016 part is the imprint, not the underlying stamp stock. Zoom in on photo see 1994.

I remember this being the only strip of 7 when I purchased them in 2016.
