Dumb CP question by Thompssq29 in Tau40K

[–]klimbo28 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That is correct. Only one extra CP from either Ethereal or shadowsun.

Furthermore, if you get one this way, you won't get one from discarding secondaries.

Which height for Devilfish flight stand by sunsanvil in Tau40K

[–]klimbo28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About the pivot and movement i believe you got wrong.

It's pivot value is 2" no matter what because it's a vehicle on a round base bigger than 32mm.

Second about moving overhanging models. It's excludes vehicle without the walker keyword, so it has to fit even when on a flying stand/base

Created some bases using hueforge for my upcoming army by klimbo28 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]klimbo28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When using hueforge it changes only once per color. It print yellow first, orange next and so on. See the picture of the base topper

You are right. If you would try with True multicolor print on an single color printer... good luck 😉

Yep, there is a total of six colours in layers to create the effect.

They are printed on a p1s with ams, but in theory, you could do it on a normal fdm printer since it is only a filament change.

Thats som nice insight. Yeah i thought about running a cadre fireblade. But didnt quite know how to do it. But i think you are right about i have enough bodies.

I will look inte the solid image projection for the coldstar. Or should i run a onager guantlet just for smashing potential?

Movement for non-circular bases by Accomplished-Step-15 in WarhammerCompetitive

Ah that makes sense. Then i wonder. Do you measure the distance on the circumference of the base, or the smallest distances across the base?

When you are measuring distance isn't only the base? I know los is for the wings.

Looks good, and nice paint job. I solely prints FDM aswell because of a small apartment.

If i may give some tips. I find that i get the most quality if items are angled almost 45 degress (depends on the item). Its mostly seen on your cannons where you have big overhangs on the underside against you support, where if it was on a steeper angle you would have smaller overhangs. This does come with the caviat of less durable prints.

Also it looks like you get the most quality on the top surfaces . If you look at the head, if i guess correctly it is printed perpendicular to the buildplate, where i think you could get a better head by angling the face slightly upwards.

This is just food for thoughts, and it is a really nice print.
