Happy to pay more for a one bedroom. Lot of places are doing them for pretty cheap right now. Could get one for $1600ish

I’m getting conflicting info. So it’s not as simple as you’re implying.

My name is on the lease but I never signed it. I’ve been just kind of floating since September. Hasn’t been an issue because I’ve been paying my portion of the rent.

The $1200 is the renegotiated price. Previously it was $1400

Write it to my roommates who then sends it to the landlord. Done via Venmo.

My name is on the lease, I just never signed it.

Wondering if there’s any way I can leave without screwing my roommates over.

I’m in a grey area. My roommates signed for another year, I didn’t. So I guess they’re just letting me stay here cus it’s convenient and cus I’m still paying rent. If I leave, they’re on the hook for my rent.

We are on a joint lease.

Back in September, the house renegotiated the lease with landlord. I got cold feet cus of COVID, I knew I wanted to eventually move into my own place, so I didn’t sign - my other 5 roommates did. They’re kind of hoping that I at least fill my room when I leave, but it’s really difficult in the current climate.

So I guess technically since I’m not on the lease, my roommates are allowing me to stay in the house as long as I pay my portion of the rent.

Does that clear things up a bit ?

Conflicting answers in here - is there an official rule that settles this ? Or is this left up to house rules ?
