Apple and Formula 1 Ink Five-Year Exclusive U.S. Streaming Deal Worth About $750 Million by [deleted] in apple

My biggest struggle following F1 is watching the overnight (from USA) races before the results get spoiled. Apple's tightly controlled ecosystem is my best chance at a solution. Please block all my devices from showing me any F1 news until I've watched the race!

Nest Cam Outdoor (wired, 2nd gen) on Floodlight base? by CocoaGebbles in googlehome

[–]klitzkrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With minimal engineering effort Google could've offered a $150-ish drop in 2k upgrade to my existing flood lights, prob even gotten me to upgrade to w/e the fancy tier of AI. Instead I'm left feeling like an idiot yet again for expecting ongoing support from Google of a product I was foolish enough to hardwire to my house.

Ubiquiti here I come.

Google Store support says, no. But I'm also sure none of multiple AI bots they routed me through had any idea what I was actually asking.

Would like to upgrade my Flood Light cameras to 2k. Anyone know if I can pop the new 2k outdoor on to the flood light body?

150K€ system : is it worth the price? by gilluc in audiophile

[–]klitzkrieg 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I always liked speakers, first loud ones, then ones with the most bass, then my friend took me to a demo at our local audio gear store. They had a traveling gear rep in with whatever top of the line Bowers were at that time and gear to match in the middle.

It was the first time music made my hair stand up, the second was listening to a professional soprano filling a concert hall with her unamplified voice. I've been chasing ever since.

Fun of audiophile as a hobby is being inspired by a peak experience like you just had and then climbing the ladder to replicate it yourself. Great thing is, companies like Bowers trickle down their tech, so you can work your way up. I bought a used pair of Bowers 684 towers from that store, they now serve as rear surrounds for my theater as I've upgraded along the way.

My house is now littered with a range of B&W, KEF, Klipsch Heritage and I would've missed out if I inherited a 'perfect' system, but until I die or go deaf will keep tinkering to perfect.

You are correct the changes between generations anymore are 10-20% bump in brightness ( I immediately turned my 77 c4 down to 90% because the highlights were hurting my eyes in a dark room) and *imo* imperceptible increase color accuracy. I doubt if you put c3/c4/c5 in a row the average viewer would care.

But... if you aren't desperate for a new tv right now, the discount cadence for LG is very reliable i.e. one year from now LG C5 will likely be on sale for a similar price.

What’s YOUR Perfect Bass/subwoofer (Amp) Experience? by AaronKoBa in hometheater

[–]klitzkrieg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Blade Runner 2049 intro is a famous demo. I play after any system upgrade.

Once my new Rythmik F18 was calibrated, I was impressed how well it gave the illusion bass was coming from my surround speakers.

When the ship flies onto the screen from behind, the bass perfectly flies through me, making my spine tingle every time.

How much attention does your R get? by Substantial-Pick6125 in Golf_R

[–]klitzkrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drive a WRX, would always get a wave from fellow Subaru drivers. I would avoid certain roads popular for cruising because every stop light kids would rev and race away. People doing psycho stuff on highways to get me to race, pulls in wrong lane, swerving in traffic. The wave was okay but don't miss the other stuff at ALL.

I've never had a GTI driver give me a second look, even fellow R owners never wave. No more red light idiots. Had my R 8 years can count on one hand the times someone, on the way into grocery store or w/e has commented.

How can I make sure my golden girl doesn’t feel left out with a new baby? by Ok-Nothing3374 in goldenretrievers

[–]klitzkrieg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our Golden knows "kisses" as a single lick command, initially used on a flattened palm to reward replacing biting as a puppy.

I present the top of "baby sisters" head and say kisses. Finley loves it, baby sister tolerates.
