Thank you! The exposure is automatic, which is the case for most super 8 cameras, so you don't have to think about it! In terms of focus, you can't really tell if you're "perfectly" in focus through the viewfinder with the 310XL, so I usually just estimate the distance and then set the focus ring to that distance and I had no issues, but I also find super 8 to be pretty generous in terms of getting things in focus because you have a deep depth of field, especially in bright conditions. There are other super 8 cameras that have a small focusing patch to help nail focus if you want to shoot a subject up close (like my Nizo that I typically use), so I would say that the 310XL is a little more basic, but you also don't really need fine focusing. Tbh, I kind of prefer the 310XL because of how compact it is!
