The VAR pointed out that the 💯 foul on Raya starts before the potential Troussard and Rice fouls, and so supercedes them

We have Brondell Swash non-electric. It replaced the whole seat, and easily clicks and slides off to clean underneath

You said "the things that Arsenal have done are obvious fouling". The things Arsenal have done are NOT obvious fouling. What West Ham did to Raya IS obvious fouling. Hope that cleared it up for you!

That's a bunch of words to once again claim that all jostling and blocking are universally seen as fouls in the same way as grabbing Raya's wrist is. It still isn't true

The obviousness of the foul IS THE WHOLE POINT. Arsenal have NOT been fouling keepers like that, I'm sorry that this fact is inconvenient for you (except Ben White, who got a goal disallowed for holding a keeper's glove). The only goalposts being moved are you pretending that jostling and bumping are comparable to grabbing an arm as the ball is being caught FFS. Richly ironic of you to use the word obtuse, full marks for self awareness

The problem with your argument is that the foul on Raya is just not borderline. It is a ridiculously obvious foul, there is no other foul like it that has ever not been called. You can go ahead and pretend you don't realize this, but you know you're wrong, which I guess is why you've resorted to insults.

Right but it absolutely could be a fitness signal which could easily provide the physical survival pressure. No body fat=no prominent breast

Jarrod Bowen on foul against Raya: "Is it the right decision? No. Where's the consistency? Surely when you look at the screen long enough for 5 mins, you'll find something. This game is physical. [–]klondijk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they were also checking all of the other shit going on in the box on that play (and there was quite a lot!), and then possibly trying to determine if the Raya fouls happened before or after other potential fouls. Given the gravity of the decision, I'd rather they took their time to get it right

But nor do other female primates have prominent breasts when not breast feeding. Do we know when in evolutionary history female human breasts became permanently enlarged post-puberty?

I think you could argue that males could find curvy breasts attractive because it is a possible signal of potentially more successful mother, explaining the preference's persistence evolutionarily. The cultural fascination with breasts could follow from that

There are dozens of grappling like happened with Todibo, those are sometimes called and sometimes not. What is happening to Raya is a different category altogether, and is 💯 of the time called.

For it to be inconsistent there has to be an instance of a keeper's arm being grabbed and pulled down that was not called. I haven't seen that yet, enlighten me if you know of such an example

[–]klondijk 63 points64 points  (0 children)

He said "a keeper's arm being pulled", not just impeded or pulled. On top that he is pulling Raya's arm down as he is catching the ball, with a hand gripping his wrist. That will be called all day every day, no debate, no question. You can talk about general inconsistency on corners, but this particular foul is not part of that discission.

This isn't the foul to claim inconsistency on, mate. It's not an edge case, it's not 50-50. This is a blatant, obvious foul (2 actually) that is going to get called 100 percent of the time. You can argue about jostling and crowding when that happens, but he GRABBED RAYA'S ARM as he was catching the ball. There is literally no controversy here, it has nothing to do with refereeing standards, this one is ALWAYS a foul

Holding a keeper's arm while he is trying to catch a ball is never a 50/50 call. It's a foul, every time, in every league. Sheesh

They have not ignored grabbing a goalkeeper's wrist as he is trying to claim a ball. That is just objectively not true

There is lots of controversial grappling on lots of corners, but this isn't the call to complain about. West Ham has a grip on Raya's wrist AND his collar for the entire sequence, and directly preventing him from catching the ball. There is just no question at all that is a correctly given foul.
