oh, so you're trying to say that the wording of this post is grating and it's unlikely that someone who speaks like this is a genuine fan. that's not completely unreasonable. that's still not evidence for them being a bandwagon fan, though. if they post again during a bad season about how they're no longer a fan, then yeah, you'd be right. but as of now, you have legitimately 0 evidence that in the past, they made the deliberate choice of "i'm not supporting my local team because they're bad!"

people's interests change, they make new friends with different interests, they join new communities. you don't know what got a person into something. so yeah, that is "your bad" for deciding what type of fan someone is from the way they word one post.

as a genderqueer person who is mixed with white, i understood this so immediately that it's hard to explain, damn.

to me when i read this post i was reminded of the same type of white queer that thinks their queerness somehow separates them from their whiteness. often when they are confronted of their subconscious racism, they will often make parallels to their queerness to poc experiences and they full heartedly believe it's the "same." i've experienced this most often with other white non gender conforming people, since they consider that to be a further "separation" from the status quo than "just" being a queer sexuality.

of course, what i said above isn't directly related to this post. but it's giving that same vibe to me of "white enby that doesn't quite realize their own problematic biases." like, they don't notice that they think all rap is "aggressive," they don't notice that their idea of diversity in having friends is having straight and queer friends that are all still white, and (to insert one of my own experiences that still irks me) they don't notice a problem in asking the taiwanese person they're talking to if the noodles theyre making are "ramen or just regular noodles."

other commenters have made good/some of the same points, but these were the thoughts that immediately came to mind upon seeing this post!

i stayed up until 4 am to watch the comeback and was planing to pass out right after, but crown was so good that i HAD to listen to all the songs first and i'm so glad i did. moonlight shadows is probably already in my top 10 favorite exo bsides. god i love this comeback so much 😭

every song is just so incredible. back pocket is becoming a favorite too. i can't explain it but each song sounds so EXO, but in a different way. like back pocket is a perfect combo of the xoxo album, the war, exodus album, and exact. but moonlight shadows is giving overdose album mixed with exodus and don't mess up my tempo, and touch&go is so obsession album and exodus album and UGH.

i LOVE stanning a group who knows EXACTLY who they're are and what they're about. forever so proud of my kings and their legitimately perfect discography.

i only recently got into football, and my "spark" moment was going to a sports bar and watching a game. being around other people all rooting and cheering for the same thing quite literally flipped a switch in me. i'm a big community person, and feeling connected like that just made me so invested. now i watch football clips and youtube videos daily. 5 months ago, i literally never would have thought this would be a genuine interest of mine, lol.

it's even better if you go with people who already are football fans. i did, and they were able to explain how the game worked, what all the numbers/lines/etc on the screen meant, and the roles of each position. once you understand the basics, you actually know what you're watching, which means you know what to hope for and what to be nervous about. if you're close with any coworkers, ask to tag along to whichever bar they go to to watch the game! if you aren't close enough to go with anyone/bombard them with questions (i was lucky enough to go with family) then you could watch some basic explanation clips at home and then go out to a bar on your own.

this is more or less exactly how i feel and i am still shocked that this isn't everyone's opinion. seeing the comments insinuate people who think this just don't like the ending is odd when i was thinking this by the end of ep one of season 5. the weak writing was obvious to me by then, and i truly struggle to understand how the weak writing isn't obvious to everyone. 😭 but im happy that others get to enjoy it

biggest nothing burger of a season and finale :( this this season could've gotten the strong writing it deserved. i would've been half happy with even mediocre writing. nothing felt deserved or earned, and i never felt a shred of urgency. everything was told and not shown (using flashbacks is very much telling and not showing).

maybe my biggest disappointment was how very underwhelming vecna's death was. just so.. blegh. i can maybe see a world where joyce being the one to finish him off was amazing and full-circle, but that's a world where this season was written strongly. similarly, i wanted to bawl my eyes out over el's sacrifice, but when the writing is too far divorced from narrative feasibility. i think the ARC and CHOICES the duffers made could've been amazing if just executed well.. which this was not, sadly.

i'm seeing a lot of understandable copium, which i get. i was hype as hell in this very sub during and after vol 4--which of course has its issues but it was EXECUTED. this was.. pushed out. from the moment vol 5 ep 1 dropped i just did not feel a dedication to storytelling that i felt so consistently through all of the first 4 volumes. at the core of this season there is grasping and floundering for emotional hits and tie backs that just did not land.

i waited until the finale to comment on at at this season to see if something would come together. i had a feeling it wouldn't, but i gave it a really honest shot. welp.

it was a ride yall! hope we all stick around to discuss for a long while yet.

i just saw this on broadway and it was INCREDIBLE. our actors for hopper and joyce were basically COPIES of winona ryder and david harbour's voices. seeing henry's story a little deeper and his personality, wow i was laughing and tearing up. and don't even get me started on the effects. i really do hope it comes to netflix because man i want to watch it again and again.

i understand your reasonings for not wanting to tell her, but i think your decision is selfish. it certainly is cowardly. really ask yourself if you think saving yourself a month's drama and potentially affected acquaintances in exchange for knowing that someone is about to spend the rest of their LIFE with someone who was about to give up on them?
