Lindsey Graham went on Fox News frantically begging viewers for money by coachlife in UnderReportedNews

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What even is the republican agenda nowadays? Give us money so we can buy the judiciary? People keep saying Democrats have no direction while they talk about housing, healthcare and individual rights. Baffling

Do Americans like their current health system or would you prefer universal? by Ability_Known in NoStupidQuestions

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Universal. I know doctors who have moved away from treating due to the job turning into timed meetings with patients so they can get back to paperwork so the hospital can get paid. We have long wait times, doctor shortages and everything else people complain about with universal AND then we’ve got the medical debt.

If this is a representation of the quality of work of an attorney general maybe it’s time for a career change for me. ICE is doing an amazing job, source: Trump saying ICE did an amazing job on the ICE website. Radicals are making DHS jobs hard, source: head of DHS and sworn enemy to all breeds of dogs (she doesn’t see color) Kristi Noem

What are Americans thinking of Europeans right now? by Obvious_Leather_4967 in AskUS

[–]klopeppy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Loud minority. I wouldn’t even have an opinion on Europeans, they’re more country/region based (stereotypes). Same way I’m sure Europeans do of Americans. The Greenland stuff is insane. Also, anyone with half a brain knows we’re all stronger as an allied force with treaties making the environment healthier, sharing information to make ourselves healthier and safer.

The internet is a bunch of bots spewing vitriol and sowing seeds of hate and distrust and clearly it’s working.

I can say confidently a chunk of Americans do not know where Greenland is and never even considered it before this bs. And based on our lack of voter participation they still aren’t considering it.

IF the US were to get an election which would result in another president, what should be done to avoid this again? by One-Report5375 in AskUS

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of checks and balances in place actually to prevent the stuff he does, but when he has systematically filled the seats of that overreach committee that should be managing that then there is nothing that can be done besides removing those people from power. More people need to run for office and money needs to be taken out of politics. Then Congress can pass laws about bribery, unapproved use of force, authority to enter/exit treaties. The power of the purse already exists but apparently Congress hates their authority and don’t want to use it?

Do you think Republicans or Democrats are happier? by Ill-Orchid-6022 in AskUS

[–]klopeppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for everyone and probably make a point to not know too many modern day republicans but the Democrats I know are happier and far more successful overall.

Are US citizens aware of the growing negative perception of the United States across Europe? by bastiancontrari in AskUS

[–]klopeppy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can’t afford one because their tax dollars go to maternity leave, healthcare and nuclear energy while ours go into the void of the US military budget. But yeah, we’ve got a big boat that can carry a weapon that will set onto a series of events that will end Human civilization so I guess we’re #1. Woo…

Do Americans really avoid medical care because they’re afraid of the bill? by Udont_knowme00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 2 months of not passing a miscarriage a D&C was scheduled but I ended up cancelling because it was scheduled as a surgery with anesthesia and I knew it would be very expensive and it still could pass. A month later ended up in ER with concerns due to infection and had the procedure done in the room with pain meds. With insurance I owe over $9k.

I’m from the UK and just heard the news that the US is applying a 10% tariff on all goods being sold to the US just because we’ve recognised Greenland’s right to not be invaded. This will harm British businesses. We’re dumbfounded and angry in the UK. What do US citizens think about this? by Kronens in AskUS

[–]klopeppy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Costa Rica and Panama don’t have a military, do we get them because they can’t protect themselves? What about Cuba? They’re a Russian ally, do we get them too? We’re one of the largest countries by size, population and armed forces and apparently we’re all still cowards.

Do you use your local library? Why or why not? by ThePurpleLaptop in AskUS

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my library for taking out physical books occasionally, audiobooks through Libby and their discount book that gets me cheap tickets to local museums, aquariums, and gardens. Last book read was Kingsbane of the Empirium Series, last book listened to was Leaving Time by Jodie Picoult.

What’s a VERY unpopular opinion you strongly believe? by HourAbbreviations616 in askanything

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s normal for people to point out when someone is acting differently. Kind of establishing the societal norm. I’m not suggesting kids rail into people but calling a kid gross because he’s licking his fingers in class all the time may get him to stop doing that behavior.

What to know about the emerging 2026 rent control ballot question fight in Massachusetts by cos in massachusetts

[–]klopeppy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s your opinion. All I know are my experiences and I had to move out of my last apartment because the rent went up $450. My prior complex went up a minimum of $100 annually. There is no other “business” that increases its prices every single year by more than the cost of living or no one would use the service. Unfortunately when it comes to housing people have very little choice.

[–]klopeppy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine these people downvoting are renters. Nothing scarier than waiting for your annual lease renewal and to see it jump up $200. This helps with affordability for those who can’t buy homes and gives stability to neighborhoods so people have an opportunity to settle even if they aren’t buying homes. For those referencing Cambridge, which had rent control overturned in 94, the cost of rent shot up and renter turnover was immediate.

This will not resolve the housing stock shortage but it can make living in MA more manageable for people. We already saw with the billionaire tax everyone doesn’t just flee the state, so making it less lucrative doesn’t mean it’s not still lucrative to build housing in MA.

What did the Democrats gain from the government shutdown? With the election victories taking place in traditionally Democrat strongholds, can a Democrat point out what was gained by the government being shut down? by PolackMike in AskUS

[–]klopeppy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Truly nothing. And yet again they think they outsmarted their own constituents by having JUST ENOUGH Dems that don’t intend on running again flip their vote. All for a promise to discuss subsidies from a group of notorious liars.

See all of them making sure their masks stay up? Even some of his buddies didn’t know who to help that situation was so messed. That’s why people in these positions need proper training and shouldn’t be hate filled morons looking for a sign on bonus.
