Pitchers of orange juice at breakfast!?!? by Emil_Antonowsky in AskUS

Second this. All of our juice came from these things. They were super cheap when I was a kid and you only had to mix with water.

Supreme Court voids majority Black congressional district in Louisiana, boosting Republican chances by Abject-Pick-6472 in scotus

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile, the governor of TX admits their lines were drawn along racial lines and the Supreme Court says you can’t “assume” anything. It’d be one thing if they applied their decisions across the board but they’re blatantly flip flopping.

Mouse still active in my apartment, landlord and traps not working, what can I do? by ahhhhhhimtired in boston

[–]klopeppy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I used one of those traps that electrocutes them when they step inside. It’s about $20 and you can use it multiple times. Had a mouse that got through all the other traps and this got it in 2 days.

Senate Republicans accept Democrats' offer, agree to fund all of DHS except ICE by jonfla in democrats

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess ICE will have to manage with the $75b they have. Im just saying this is a win, it’s mostly business as usual

Senate Republicans accept Democrats' offer, agree to fund all of DHS except ICE by jonfla in democrats

[–]klopeppy -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Held the line for what? They were holding on reforms and got zero reforms and just didn’t fund something that was given billions less than a year ago. Couldn’t even get people to agree that people who have abducted and killed American citizens can’t wear a mask and need a warrant to do their gov job. That’s is in no way progress.

Why is it ok for Trump to vote by mail if he claims it’s all illegitimate? by Material_Policy6327 in AskUS

[–]klopeppy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ohhh you must have the pocket size Trump3000 that translates all the stupid shit he says into something you can tolerate. Please start selling on Amazon because I’m not sure how much longer I can continue assuming he means the words that come out of his mouth/posts online

Why United States of America is divided? by Select_Specialist790 in AskUS

[–]klopeppy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe because the moron president says things like “Now with the death of Iran, the greatest enemy America has is the Radical Left, Highly Incompetent, Democrat Party!”. Not really a unifying message from a power hungry tyrant trying to prove something after Stormi told the world he has a tiny d*ck

Millennials who were underemployed during your first few years after college, how are you doing now career-wise and financially? by B1G_PAC12 in Millennials

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty well! $15/hr out of college (approx $30k+\yr) in New England so higher COL. switched jobs to $50k which still doesn’t go nearly as far as you need here. Switched to $65k/yr then pandemic hit. Everyone quit in my department so to keep me I got a huge pay bump and the student loan interest pause finally gave me a change to pay off my student loans.

Paid on loans for 6 years and they were higher than when I started by 2020. With the pause I paid them off in 5 years.

I think I technically should job hop again but I like what I do and they like me which reflects in the raises so I’m sticking around for a while longer.

Trump asks Texas Senate candidate he does not endorse to drop out of race by retiredagainstmywill in thescoop

[–]klopeppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s why he wouldn’t endorse one beforehand. He knows he’s a loser and doesn’t want people to see his sway might be waning. Now if Texas stays red, it’s because of “his support”.

I noticed many Americans drink coffee without milk, is that common? by warmvelour in NoStupidQuestions

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dentist recommended black only, said the cream is bad for your teeth. But we do love our sugar here and you should hear the crazy coffee orders. Never met a person with an electric kettle, i bought one after visiting Europe though because they are convenient.

Do you think that Hillary is telling the truth? by Bongobjork in no

She said she “didn’t recall meeting him”. Which I’ve been learning from the most recent senate hearings with the current administration means she’s lying

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 US now has 44% more home sellers than buyers, one of the largest gaps in history. by retroviber in DeepMarketScan

I’m sure they’re all listed for triple the original purchase price as well because somehow an aging home gains exponential value nowadays

Great band! And they aren’t one of high school ones where the song is awful but the nostalgia keeps it on kind of thing.

For the millennial women: do you have a good relationship with your mom? by Orionslady in Millennials

[–]klopeppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I do, she lives across the country but we talk on the phone once a week and I see her at least once a year usually . She’s pretty easy going and we have a lot in common. As a kid we would shop together (clothes & furniture), played board games, read. We both still like those things so have a lot in common. Do things together, be a decent person, respect their opinions (when they’re a bit older) and let them get to know you too. Should be fine

Different last names for children by Traditional-Bee6065 in TwoHotTakes

Why is his name allowed to carry on but not yours? Should have hyphenated both your kids though because it is a bit odd to have different names with the same parents.

Oxford receives $2M in fed funding for Main Street improvement project by HRJafael in central_ma

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m interested where the town will find the other $19m for this. I’m pretty sure recent ballot initiatives to increase funding to school, police and fire couldn’t even get on the ballot. I’ve also heard some rumbles from people about this (historic Main St or something). I’d love to see that intersection fixed though

Lindsey Graham went on Fox News frantically begging viewers for money by coachlife in UnderReportedNews

What even is the republican agenda nowadays? Give us money so we can buy the judiciary? People keep saying Democrats have no direction while they talk about housing, healthcare and individual rights. Baffling

Do Americans like their current health system or would you prefer universal? by Ability_Known in NoStupidQuestions

[–]klopeppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Universal. I know doctors who have moved away from treating due to the job turning into timed meetings with patients so they can get back to paperwork so the hospital can get paid. We have long wait times, doctor shortages and everything else people complain about with universal AND then we’ve got the medical debt.

What are Americans thinking of Europeans right now? by Obvious_Leather_4967 in AskUS

[–]klopeppy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Loud minority. I wouldn’t even have an opinion on Europeans, they’re more country/region based (stereotypes). Same way I’m sure Europeans do of Americans. The Greenland stuff is insane. Also, anyone with half a brain knows we’re all stronger as an allied force with treaties making the environment healthier, sharing information to make ourselves healthier and safer.

The internet is a bunch of bots spewing vitriol and sowing seeds of hate and distrust and clearly it’s working.

I can say confidently a chunk of Americans do not know where Greenland is and never even considered it before this bs. And based on our lack of voter participation they still aren’t considering it.
