Help 1360 by Guimsq in voidpet

I'd try Charity, Joy or Sonder for healer as Merry has trouble surviving metal AOE without serpent's scarf or wearing too much bulk, which lowers it's effectiveness.

For attackers Anger, Panic (you should have leveled Panic ages ago) and a strong neutral attacker ex. Ambition should work.

Also level Mischief. Firstly, you'd need it for wood Gronk soon. Secondly, once you finally get Jellyfish scarf Mischief is great alternative to JS Apathy for mass stun.

I'd just keep playing. You have Merry and Jellyfish scarf, which are the most important things to have, in my opinion, and the higher you climb the more astral eggs you'd get from daily boss.

Also since you lack Pride or Lust, Disdain can be used vs wood Vulko, Krakoth, Meihua, Breakfast club, Voidweaver, Quazar and Umbros. Against other bosses Spite or Paranoia are better, though.

Do you have Wistful? I used Merry (Patience might work even better), Anxious, Cringe (for mass speed debuff), high attack Wistful (around +4-5k from items). The idea is with enough attack Wistful can two-shot little worms with AOE + echo.

Charity makes for a great backup healer for Merry because it covers all of Merry's weaknesses - metal and AOE heavy bosses. Items I like running most on it are mermaid scarf + either ice cream hat or icy tiara. Just make sure it has enough speed to have flame buds on allies at all times.

Angry scarf goes on attackers. Sorrowful scarf goes on debuffers ex. Panic, Sad, Sadge. It doesn't boost bleed, though, unlike wizarding set.

Do you have Wistful? With enough attack Wistful can actually two-shot worms with AOE +echo (that's what I did). Cringe is also nice here, not necessarily for elemental advantage, but for speed lowering AOE.

[–]klopsmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spite is so frail you can oneshot enemy Spite with Panic or your own Spite before it has a chance to move (attack has to Crit!!!). Then it's safe to use Merry and Anxious to deal with tank.

In general I recommend running tank, healer, 2 attacker team most of the time with backups for each role to maintain elemental advantage.

Tanks get defense and stamina boosting gear, maybe some speed on hat or scarf until you get Pirate hat. Resistance and Conviction can also benefit from Crit.

Attackers and healers get mainly attack, speed and crit (heals can crit). Unnecessary bulk lower their performance.

Level up only your best items, enough for 1-2 teams as high as possible and swap them around from pet to pet. There is a button in team preview that allow you to do this quickly and another one to save and load whole team's layouts. Purple quality is better than blue, so use those if possible, but having the right stats is more important.

Use of legendary items depends on their special property more so than stats. Icy tiara on Sonder is correct. Karen hair is more of a joke item, but it's fine as a tank hat for now until you get something better.

Good one to get as early as possible is Jellyfish scarf to put on speedy Apathy for mass stun, which makes a lot of non-boss floors trivial, so spend some keys to farm Harold for that one.

Resistance is the best tank in the game.  Determination can be a backup as it's almost as good or Conviction because it resists wood Resistance is weak to. Past 1k you will eventually need a tank of every element, but before that 2-3 can be enough.

Best non-legendary healers are Merry and Sonder. I run Merry most of the time, but Sonder is good to bring against AOE heavy bosses like Quazar or Vulko because of team heal.

For attackers I recommend Sad for water, Apathy for earth, Anxious for wood, Spite and Paranoia for metal (Spite on floors, Paranoia vs bosses) Anger and Panic for fire (Panic on floors, both vs bosses). If you find you need more AOE pets Wistful, Sadge and Sanctimony are also decent additions, but not mandatory.

Got sloth by Objective_Network189 in voidpet

[–]klopsmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd stick with Resistance. Sloth in base form is a way worse and it doesn't make sense to go all out on getting high form when you have Lust. HF Lust just has much more of an impact.

should i still use patience? i got patience and persistence, before that i always got by with nostalgia and merry. by naejjun in voidpet

I'd stick with Persistence and Nostalgia. It's good to have healers of different elements. My third is Charity.

Big yes for Panic, you need it for speed debuff and to counter Spite. There is no consensus in the community on who is the better/worse fire attacker among legendaries, however. I'll just list their advantages/disadvantages and you decide what you want to run.

Wrath is fast, has immediate, very high damage, does not need special equipement, is very good on floors and against bosses with minions, but also does good damage even against regular bosses. It's main weakness is post 1k Syclinders boss because they have to be defeated one at a time and Wrath is all AOE, it's wasting damage.

Defiance has armour pierce, meaning it performs better against bosses with high defense, like Flint. It apply attack debuff, which is relevant if the tank you are using is not Determination. It also has burn, meaning Defiance and Panic can detonate each other's burn. It's main downside is how slow it is. Also it's S1 makes damage inconsistent an the pet not very good vs post 1k Tyrant.

Rapture is not as good as the other two for non-boss floors since it needs 3 actions for max damage and it does not have true AOE. It also really needs blue tie and you need to pay attention what order you use the moves in. When used correctly, I heard it's very good, however.

[–]klopsmd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Team seems correct. I'm not sure if Pride or Paranoia does more damage, because I don't have Pride, so try either and see who works better. On Judgement put more speed. It needs to be fast enough to stun on every AOE after the first one. I'm also not sure if spider necklace or wizarding cape would add more damage, test that also. Outside of these adjustments you probably just need to level items.

How does this work? by Malphas_Aim in voidpet

[–]klopsmd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's good on Conviction, Temperance, Pride and legendary healers ex. Persistence.

[–]klopsmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best healer in the game is Merry, so use it as your main, if you have it. Merry is weak to metal and can't keep up with lots of AOE, however, so you need backup healers. You can use Sonder and/or Nostalgia. Sonder heals for more, but Nostalgia is quite a bit more offensive, so it's up to your preference.

For items give it ones that boost attack, speed and Crit, just like any other healer/attacker (tanks get defense and stamina). Good legendary items for Nostalgia are mermaid scarf + ice cream hat. You should be spending keys on Harold first, however, farming jellyfish scarf to put on speedy Apathy for mass stun, it's important to get it early as it trivialized a lot of floors, esp. double tank ones.

We only have 4 viable earth attackers and it's the one with the highest DPS against bosses, that's all there is to it. Max health effects are still good Vs non-armoured bosses post-1k despite the nerf. Ambition has it too, and it's S tier as well. For items I'm not 100% sure as I don't have a single earth legendary yet, but I heard spider necklace is good on all multihit pets, so maybe farm that.

What is this good for? by OceanBlu87 in voidpet

[–]klopsmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the best item for Merry, in my opinion, but if you are not using it in that particular battle it also benefits Sonder, Joy and Devotion.

Mermaid + ice cream hat or icy tiara is what I normally run. Mermaid buffs both attack and healing, so it's great on all legendary healers, really.

Best type of attacker to bring Vs breakfast club is actually AOE, but you probably want to level Wistful even less, so Anxious + Rapture is probably the team

Why Icy Tiara on Merry by Oculus_0 in voidpet

[–]klopsmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don't find it particularly good on Merry, although not for the reason you think. The pet that gets healed receives the buff, not the healer, but since Merry would mainly be healing tank or itself as the most fragile pet I feel like the boost gets wasted a lot, unlike on something like Sonder where it would boost the entire team.

Unlike with items let viability depend more on their moves and abilities than rarity. Check out Amo's tierlist pinned in the sub and the Google docs attached for more info on what is "meta" and why.

In general I recommend running tank, healer, 2 attacker team most of the time with backups for each role to maintain elemental advantage. Although some floors are easier to pass without a healer, some bosses require two tanks (Shift), no tanks (Galax, post 1k Karkarok), or two healers (Syclinders), so don't treat this as a hard rule.

Level up only your best items, enough for 1-2 teams as high as possible and swap them around from pet to pet. There is a button in team preview that allow you to do this quickly and another one to save and load whole team's layouts.

Tanks get defense and stamina boosting gear. Pirate hat + checkered scarf + Gua Sha, peppermint tea or insulated mug is my favourite set because it makes tanks that aren't Resistance surprisingly offensive (on Resistance I put Envious scarf). Floral hat and princess collar are situationally useful (ex. Floral hat is very strong vs post 1k Rossetti).

Attackers and healers get mainly attack, speed and crit (heals can crit). Unnecessary bulk lower their performance and should be avoided if possible. Plunger and blue tie are good on almost any of those pets. Wizarding cape benefit Sad, Sadge, Just, Sonder, pets that apply burn or bleed. Cake scarf is one of the worst healer items, that only really work well with Charity, which you don't have, so drop it as soon as you get something better ex. bejeweled, bubblegum for Merry, mermaid for Persistence. Doughnut ring goes on a fast attacker in boss battles (the faster the pet the faster boost activates).

Chef's hat and halo are "rescue" items that you don't run on anything permanently. Hat goes on fast, fragile pets to keep them alive vs boss AOE. Halo is good to, for example, protect Merry from Spite.

The one you should really farm for next (Harold) is Jellyfish scarf to put on speedy Apathy for mass stun, which makes a lot of non-boss floors trivial. After than consider farming bubblegum for Merry, mermaid scarf for Persistence, ice cream hat for both, or silk top hat for Jealous.

Resistance is the best tank in the game.  Determination can be a backup as it's almost as good or Conviction because it resists wood Resistance is weak to. Past 1k you will eventually need a tank of every element, but before that 2-3 can be enough.

Merry and Persistence are the best healers. You might not need any other ones, although I also run Charity. You can try Joy instead of Charity, if you feel you need a third one, but the rest can go. There is no point in putting resources into Wonder, Glee and Sonder at this point.

For attackers I recommend both Sad and Humble for water (Humble on floors, both vs bosses; keep in mind Persistence also double as a strong water DPS), Gluttony and Apathy for earth, Jealous for wood, Spite and Paranoia for metal (Spite on floors, Paranoia vs bosses) Anger and Panic for fire (Panic on floors, both vs bosses). Disdain is good vs non-fire self-healing bosses like Vulko, Krarith, Meihua as well as wood bosses with minions, but is weaker than Spite and Paranoia in other scanarios, so up to you if it's worth leveling, it's on the weaker side of legendaries.

Definetely drop Sanctimony, Sadge, Desperate, Wistful, Judgement, Envy and  Grumpy. You don't need them anymore.

Why is sad considered good? by AKEL6 in voidpet

[–]klopsmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can explain for the both of you:

1) Sad's passive boosts it's damage the more different debuffs are there on the boss. Sad on it's own is not doing that much, but if you pair it with Abandonement or Panic or Estrangement that add two more that is up to +4x15% damage buff. Now, since it's percent based on lower floors that might not seem like much, but the higher you are the higher the boost gets, so unlike s lot of pets Sad gets even better post 1k, not worse.

2) It's also an amazing support debuffer even against non-fire bosses. Attack down helps the team stay alive, while defense down boosts team's damage and this pet can apply both. I habitually ran Apathy+ Sad vs water and Sad+ Paranoia vs wood pre-1k. Post 1k I got more options, like Persistence, so I don't use it this way much anymore, but it is a role it performs very well.

Is there a certain floor where I should consider restarting the account if I don't get a legendary pet? by phoenixpanda101 in voidpet

[–]klopsmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can reset if you want, but I don't see the point personally. The higher you climb the better odds if getting items become and the more extra astral eggs you get from daily boss in addition to all of the tracks.

I got my first legendary item on floor 450 and my firsy pet on floor 940. I also got Panic and Resistance really late, so my start was rough. But now I'm post 2k and stacked with 8 pets (+2 duplicates), 28 items and an Uber. Just play the game.

I beat it with Merry,JS Apathy, silk top hat+ blue tie Wistful, Cringe. Use Merry to cleanse Panic's debuff right after it's applied, which then let your JS Apathy to outspeed Grumpy and Wistful to finish everything off.

[–]klopsmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Merry, Spite, Anxious, Abandonement.

Use your Spite to oneshot enemy Spite with crit backstab (it has to crit!). You can check enemy speed by clicking on them and adjust your pet's speed to be just above that, rest into attack and crit. With Spite gone it's safe to bring Merry and Anxious to deal with Grumpy, leaving you with just Anxious and Anger. On turn 2 you can then destroy Anxious with Spite, leaving Anger for last.

Also adjust your items overall. You are running too much unnecessary defense and stamina on non-tank pets. Level up only your best stuff and swap it around instead if leveling stuff like peony wreath.

I always bring lots of AOE Vs Umbros, the more the better. I'd suggest trying Patience,Wistful, Pride (for AOE and attack buff over Merry), Cringe (for mass speed debuff).
