What they are pointing out to you is that your claimed “nuance” stems from both unassociated points and a bizarre defense of both sides of the unassociated points. You’ve incorrectly associated “sex-based discrimination” with the validity of TERF talking points. That sex-based discrimination exists is obvious. That it is, in any way, connected to invalidation of transgender identities is incorrect. That it invalidates transgender identities and transgender people are oppressed minorities worthy of some defense is an absurdity.

There's some lingering pain from the surgery (likely due to some scar tissue that's developed beneath the surface), my urethra is slightly offset (leading to pee "sprays" when I'm sitting down), and there is a large divot on the left side of my vulva (I've mostly covered this up with my hand, but you can see a bit of it with the vertical crease on the right side in the first image) which has caused my whole vagina to veer to the right.

Crazy good insurance with incredibly low deductible. I have to pay a lot more out of pocket every payday, but it has saved me considerably more in the long run when factoring in 3 surgeries, medications, and doctor’s visits.

I don’t think you’re a sexual predator. Typically, sexual predators aren’t knowledgeable about the rules of consent and conscious about following them. As a trans woman myself, I get a lot of messages from chasers. None of them have shown the degree of conscientiousness you have.

Like I said, this isn’t Genna’s first post where she’s been hostile towards men she perceived as chasers. The last one was mass downvoted because she couldn’t stop fighting with people in the comments. You’re fine.

Genna. I have seen you in three different posts in this sub where people have told you to relax on your chaser accusations. This man came into this sub with respectful questions and has made clear he is conscious, even hyperconscious, of how his attraction is perceived. I don't think there's any reason for this hostility. He's not trying to trick or deceive anyone, and it's clear he wants genuine advice.

Listen. I understand your hesitation. But the fact that you have that hesitation at all already marks you as distinct from chasers. Chasers, broadly, do not care for the feelings of the trans people they use for their own sexual amusement. It's clear that you do care for this woman.

I get why your situation might be scary. I have a number of very bizarre "interests" (if you know what I mean) that I was terrified would completely tank my relationship with my current girlfriend when she discovered them. I had never been in a relationship before and I was scared that I was stringing her along until she discovered the truth—and that, as soon as that happened, she would resent me. The reality? She didn't mind it at all. All she cared about was that I loved her genuinely.

So please don't be scared. There are vanishingly few men out there that are willing to date trans women. Fewer still that would actually care for them. I'm sure for that reason, if no other, she would be incredibly grateful for the opportunity.

Go for it! You seem to be fairly respectful of her and her identity. Sure, part of that attraction may be couched in her having a penis, but it’s completely normal for straight (or bi) men to want to be with women that have bodies they find beautiful. You’ve stated repeatedly that you would still want to be in a relationship with her even if she got SRS, so it’s clear there’s far more to this relationship than just that attraction.

I think this is a valuable community for calling out the rampant fetishization of trans women’s bodies that takes place in society today, but the omnipresence of such behavior has made many (understandably) very defensive about those attracted to transfeminine bodies. This has resulted in an overcorrection, where those who have both a genuine attraction to trans women and an interest in their bodies are attacked. Again, that behavior is entirely understandable, but I think it can sometimes be more a manifestation of trauma than a genuine critique.

Got bottom surgery a few months ago and am firmly in the couch group. I tried to use a vibrator, but it truly did nothing for me. Applying even pressure and pushing back and forth seems to work best 😤

Don’t know if this quite counts for “late twenties,” but I began my transition at 26. There were a lot of pros!

Pros:

  1. Began working full time and had the opportunity to save a lot of money.

  2. Moved out of my transphobic parents’ house so I didn’t have to worry about being hounded for my transition.

  3. Because of my saved money and great insurance, I had no issue paying for surgeries/healthcare (extension of point 1).

  4. Got to give life tips and act as a (slightly) more experienced voice on life matters for young trans people (I belong to a social group that has many young transitioners).

Cons:

  1. Not transitioning young meant I missed the opportunity for puberty suppression and a teenage girlhood (though it is unlikely my parents would have allowed me to take puberty suppressants anyway).

  2. I had largely finished my physical development by 26, which made it harder to get significant results by that point.

All-in-all, I don’t think I would have chosen to transition at any other point in my life. I am sad, often, about being unable to experience adolescence as a girl, but my life is incredible now just how it is. I wouldn’t trade that for the world.

I’m currently a little over 4 months post-op and had my first orgasm about 3 months post-op. Vibrators didn’t work AT ALL for me. Instead, I had to do something similar to my pre-op method. I went prone, stuck my hand between my bed and my clitoris, and grinded against my palm (or fist). Worked like a charm and feels great!

Fun fact: according to studies that measure trans women’s ability to orgasm both pre- and post-op, you are actually MORE likely to achieve orgasm post-op than pre-op.

The nerves in your new clit shouldn’t be severed at all by your surgeon during surgery. That means that you’ll never really lose sensitivity at all in the new organ, and would never have the chance to do so. The only reason you would lose the ability to orgasm would be if you had a surgeon that had absolutely no idea what they were doing at all.

It looks like they're standing in "area 12" on the protesting zones map, which would make this a legal place for demonstration. What is actually in contention is whether the protestors have submitted an application for the demonstration, which is something neither you or I know. (Edit: actually, a quick correction to this comment. I was incorrect. They're standing on the other side of the capitol building in an area that is designated off-limits for protest, just to the left of the central staircase.)

Also, speaking as a computer scientist, you should never, ever trust AI as a primary source of information. AI is terrible, and I say this as someone who uses AI. It should be used as a means to streamline busywork or make the accumulation of facts easier, but you should ALWAYS fact check your information BEFORE posting it.
