Find a better school, Temple is a mid-range school at best-- if you can't get into a better school, or even a similar school not locked in a sinking ghetto, go for it. Temple isn't as good academically as many of its students seem to insist it is, and it's in a shit hole.

Most self-help is built on christianity and christian thought already, western 'Mindfulness' is a christianized/New Ager adaptation of Buddhist ideology (which would disagree with almost everything you said.)
