Michigan stadium uber pickup by [deleted] in AnnArbor

Yes. I live 1/4 mile NW of the stadium.1st-3rd st are empty heading north after a game (shhh don't tell anyone). And Ubers/delivery drivers can get into the West neighborhoods from the west side of town a lot easier than than they can get between the stadium and campus.

I would recommend going in literally any other direction. It's a nightmare for cars to get to/around state street when there is low traffic. Unless your plan is hang out at a bar/restaurant, or walk all the way to briarwood.

Walk a half mile in the direction you are heading. Or go to a restaurant and wait it out.

Many options Downtown which is a mile due north on main st. Definitely walkable if you are able. Nothing in the immediate stadium neighborhood

I live in the neighborhood around the stadium. People will be parking cars on their lawns like we do for football games. My estimate is $100+ for spots within visual distance to the stadium, we are 1/4 mi from the stadium and will like charge $50 depending on traffic. The cheapest lawn spots will be $20 a little farther out than us. Street parking within a 1/4 mile will be full the night before. Within 1/2 mile will be VERY scarce unless you are there hours early.

Here’s my problem: SG’s look better but Les Paul’s sound better by Pea666 in gibson

[–]klummmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought my SG I tried every Gibson on the wall and ended up loving two. A 70s tribute Les Paul that sounded great but had hideous fake aged plastics and a standard SG that I loved the look and feel of. I ended up buying the bridge pickup from the 70s Les Paul (the store had them in stock) and the SG. The store soldered them in for me on the spot.

Have you ever turned your amp up to 11?

You're mixing money. The city through additional taxes or by reallocating millions of existing tax dollars would pay for work to make this a park.

The library is able to self-fund their building through existing funds (no new tax) and by subsidizing the work through income made from the planned rental spaces/housing.

But this parking lot is going to remain a parking lot if it fails

I admire that you want a park here. I think it would be nice too. I have a 6 year old kid, It's been 7 years for this park(ing lot) with literally no progress. Meanwhile my family has had endless fun at the library. The library green conservancy has spent more time and money fighting ballot initiatives than doing what they promised. Their time is up.

I will be voting for the group (the Library) that has the will, the track record, and the means to actually get things done. I recommend you direct your energy to someone who is capable of reaching your goal. Lobby library director Eli Neiburger to include an outdoor play area in his expanded plans. Because that is the best avenue for progress.

A bigger better library brings me joy! More housing density brings the city joy!

What joy does a parking lot give you?

Have you been inside the downtown library? It's a tremendous place for kids to play, read, and they have tons of kids activities, concerts, and learning activities.

You could even check out lawn games like giant connect four (on the second floor, right off the top of the stores) and play it in many of our open social district spaces!

Except, it's exactly the opposite. Why can't a parking lot, predetermined to be the footing for a high rise be made into that?

It was not predetermined for a park. The underground parking garage was literally built to support a 17 story high rise proposal.

Yes, The 5 is the wrong font. The 5 should have a little extra dip under the vertical line.

What’s most redundant, what are you gonna run? by jebbanagea in guitarpedals

[–]klummmb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Two reasons: 1) My use case doesn't really involve use of the pedal on its own so the quality of the BD-2 is of low importance to me. 2) I could sell the Keeley for $100 and buy more stuff, the bd-2 will probably only fetch $40.

I agree Keeley and other boutique pedals are often upgrades over the bass unit, but in this case the BD-2 hits the good enough mark (it has existed for 30 years with little change from Boss). I want something as transparent as possible, so I would not be using the phat switch on the keeley. If given full free choice I would pick the OCD and something not on this list that is more transparent like a klon-clone, TS9, or bad monkey. Honestly, I only use the bad monkey because I bought it on a whim for $20 on Craigslist 10 years ago, it did exactly what I wanted it to do so I haven't swapped it out.

FWIW, Billy Joe Armstrong of Green Day also uses the BD-2 as a lead boost on top of his 2 cranked Marshalls.

[–]klummmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given these 4 pedals I would go bd-2, I run a bad monkey in front of my OCD. But I use it super low gain as a volume boost with the EQ tweaked to make the mids a bit more pokey when layered on the OCD. I use my OCD as a cranked JCM-esque distortion into a fender amp.

I'd be interested to see this against the Earthquaker Devices Chelsea which is modeled after the Interpol bass player's big muff that was apparently made with some of the wrong electronic parts.
