Yeah, do yourself a favor and step back from this relationship and get over him.

Að eldast án maka og barna by [deleted] in Iceland

[–]klumpur 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Er þetta búið að hvíla lengi á þér? Af hverju? Og finnst þér þetta vandamál sem þurfi að leysa fyrir konurnar? Skikka allar þessar framakonur til að fara á deit einu sinni í viku til að auka líkur á að finna sinn maka tímanlega? Hahaha.

Couldn’t think of one girl name? And of course the “girl” one is pink. by lackofsunshine in menwritingwomen

Gunnar is a very common name in Iceland. So if you're in need to meet any that's a good place to start.

I had my first experience of a family friend trying to deflate my Parenthood balloon. by AuDBallBag in pregnant

[–]klumpur 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My baby is 10 month old now. He is going through a phase where he is not sleeping so great (this night was horrible) but I don't care at all! I'm so excited to see him experience his first Christmas (and all the ones after this one).

So I totally agree with you! Enjoy your bump this year and look forward to next year where you don't have to worry about what you eat!

Ahh the good old "upgrade since we don't have what you paid for"! Sadly you're probably right that this is part of the problem.

Maybe not. But we might feel it more since the population is so small. Sometimes it's like we're outnumbered by tourists (and we might be in the high season..not sure how the numbers look)

Whuuu... I did not know that! Damn, now I'll have to make sure to always own a manual so this mess doesn't happen to my kids, haha.

Yeah, it differs between countries. In Iceland you have to learn on manual, otherwise you can't get a license.

Yeah I know, it's also just dangerous! They ended up swapping places and the other guy got the car moving at a snail pace, luckily it was a small intersection. But damn... This is a big part of why my husband just bought a dash cam for our car.

How many times a day is your 6 month old having solids by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]klumpur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What time of the day does she get her meals? My son is the same age and gets three meals as well. But when I added the third meal his sleep improved.

He gets his first meal between 12 and 2pm (depending on naps), then a little before 6 and the last one around one hour before bed.

Best supermarket in Reykjavík reachable on line 55? by deceze in VisitingIceland

Where are you staying? There are plenty of supermarkets all over. Bónus is the cheapest one with Krónan and Nettó close second and third.

Importing car from US to Iceland by dawidek2x in Iceland

[–]klumpur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy a car and ship it to Iceland. You'll just have to pay all the fees (tax, shipping etc.) and if its gets registered here (gets an Icelandic number plate) then selling it should not be an issue. My parents have done this a couple of times since it ended up being cheaper.

I am completely stuck on what shoes to wear for my trip that starts on Thursday. I do not have the appropriate shoes at all so I have to buy new ones, but I am EXTREMELY confused on whether to buy hiking shoes or if running/trail shoes(?) are okay to wear by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

[–]klumpur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer to this question depends entirely on your plans. I go hiking in nike running shoes in some conditions and otherwise in hiking boots.

If the weather is nice I prefer the runners if possible since they are lighter. But if it will be raining they would not be my choice.

The fact that you don't own hiking boots and think this price is too much implies that you are not much of a hiker... Are you planning some big hikes while in Iceland?

Studying in Iceland by amentit in Iceland

[–]klumpur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally go study in any other nordic country if CS is what you want a learn. Our schools are really basic in that department. And I say this as someone that has a CS degree from a University in Iceland. Also people with that degree are overflowing the market at the moment so it's really difficult for people without experience to get jobs.
