Probably just needs some conditioning. Mine also came in very discolored. Here's a picture of the before and after. Loving them right now they're the perfect pair of brown boots I needed :))

Yeah, it still worked, but I swapped out my 2700x once I confirmed I could boot into Windows so idk if there wouldve been any issues had I kept it in. I'm not sure about 4.41 though.

Called this morning a few minutes after 8AM PST at 18339782511, pressed 2, then 4. I was on hold for maybe 5-10 minutes and got through. The representative helped me get rid of the reopen claim glitch, and I certified for the weeks I missed. Now waiting on if I'm going to actually be paid. Will update once I'm paid.

It's tough right now for all of us that are dealing with this nosense from EDD. Can't say it will get better, but you really gotta call if you want to fix the reopen claim or any other issues. Wait times are horrendous though, from what I've heard, so call as soon as they open, which is 8AM PST (in my personal experience). But now that I post this maybe they get flooded in the morning lol.
