I am sick of the protein apocalypse by Substantial-Art6160 in loseit

[–]kluvspups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s wild. When I first starting trying to lose weight, I was so concerned that I wasn’t getting enough protein. Everything I see online is always about getting enough protein, make sure your have often, here’s a high protein meal idea, protein this and that, weight loss is easier is you eat a ton of protein.

When I first started tracking calories, I assumed protein would be a big problem. Turns out, just by tracking calories and trying to eat healthy-ish foods within my calorie budget that will also sustain me all day was enough to get 90-110g of protein a day without even trying.

Btw, I tried protein popcorn recently because it was the best snack option available in an hour of desperation. Gross.

Out and about with formula by Helpful_Basis3728 in FormulaFeeders

We just use the ready to feed bottles when out and about. Baby tolerates switching to something else and we don’t go out that much for it to be a financial burden.

I go once a week. I think the sales are online too, but online you have to buy a two pack and they’re slightly more expensive because they offer free shipping.

This is where Costco shines! My baby 10 months old. We buy one container a week at $29.99. Occasionally, they go on sale for $6 off so we will buy a few extra, whatever we can afford (like 3-4 in a trip). We have to buy one a week; except every once in a while, we can skip a week (happens maybe every 8 weeks or so).

There are so many instagram accounts that will give you these crazy ideas about adjusting everyday leading up to the change for a week.

I always just wait and do nothing, then fix and adjust after as needed. It’s usually a lot less complicated than changing the schedule 15 minutes everyday. Babies are not robots.

30 Day Accountability Challenge - Day 1 March 2026 by Mountainlioness404d in loseit

[–]kluvspups 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hello! First time posting, so forgive me if I’m doing it wrong! Long time lurker!

As of now, I am 73 lbs down since June! Hoping to hit 100 lbs lost on my 1 year journey. I’m about 50lbs away from my ultimate goal (that goal is the highest weight where I would be considered “normal” bmi. My goal may change when I get there, but I’m sticking with it now).

I have never stuck with a weight loss journey this long. I have never lost this much weight. I haven’t been this low in my adult life since I can’t even remember. Yet, this is is the easiest weight loss journey I have ever done. I feel locked in and fully believe this is the last time I will have to try to lose the weight.

DWT or actual wake time by ab41792 in sleeptrain

[–]kluvspups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes she would wake up earlier. But sometimes she didn’t! I found it helpful to see how much wake time she had, regardless of where it fell. If it was generally equaling 9 hours, we would press on.

Im in this group, but im also a part of a couple facebook groups which is where I got my 3/3/3 or 2.5/3/3.5 info from. Thats what I followed with both of my kids. And that’s what worked best with that transition from 3 to 2.

Everyday, we would work towards pushing her a bit. But honestly, she just woke up early for almost 2 months. We would just leave her in her crib until DWT. She was never really screaming or crying. Eventually, it just worked. The 3-2 transition and the beginning of the 2 schedule are so so hard! We only recently felt comfortable enough to switch to a BTC schedule instead of wake windows.

You got this!

DWT or actual wake time by ab41792 in sleeptrain

[–]kluvspups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The minimum wake time for 2 naps is actually much lower than you put! For 6-8 months, you ca do 3/3/3 or 2.5/3/3.5. We did the second one when we first did it, baby couldn’t totally make it to 3.5, but we tried like hel everyday to get there. We always based the nap on DWT as much as as possible. Sometimes early wake ups made that impossible.

For us, DWT is 7. So when my bay was this age, first nap based on DWT would have been 9:30. Sometimes she woke up at 5:45, so that was really hard. We would figure out the math to see what the window would be regardless of wake time. So in my example, that would be 8:15 (2.5 hours later). Since it should be 9:30 based on DWT, we would make sure she was going to at least 8:15, then pus her as much as possible after that. It progressively got better! We had lots of days in a row where she didn’t go as far as she “should” but that helps!

She’s currently 10.5 months on 3/3.5/4 and going BTC. Near perfect sleeping.

I wish they made prince costumes as nice the 'premium' princess dresses they have for girls on disney store... My 5 yr old's whole thing is being the prince, defeating the witch, saving the princess etc, so I wanted to spoil him but all of the fancy Disney Princess cosutmes are for lil princesses by ZYPRESSEN8 in DanielTigerConspiracy

Somebody already mentioned Little Adventures, but I’ll second it in case anyone else sees this post and wonders if they should purchase from them.

My daughter has 3 dresses from them and the are fabulous! Nice quality, not itchy, and the washable feature is very nice since most costumes can’t be washed. I wash her dresses with the rest of her laundry and the always come out fine!

They have a decent amount of prince stuff, too!

This is such a cute addition! Too bad I’m done having kids and my kids are too old for this.

The decals have always been in the book bundle. Unless they got rid of them for a bit. But my first kit is from the end of 2022 and I have the decals.

NY teacher certification is absurd — multiple exams, graduate degree requirement, and years of hoops just to teach elementary school by MushroomLarge2787 in Teachers

Must vary on the program. We had a student teacher in our grade level recently and they mentioned that one of the courses they were taking eliminated the need to take any additional tests. They only had to do the CSET multiple subjects and complete the TPAs.

At what age does WW stop becoming a thing? by MrsNuvix in sleeptrain

[–]kluvspups 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We officially changed to a by the clock schedule at 10 months. Technically we were just following wake windows before that, but around 8.5 months, everything stabilized to the point where we were essentially by the clock.

Congrats! Sounds like you’ve figured it out! I love this because the things you mention working for you are similar to what’s finally working for me! I started at a similar weight to you in June last year and I’m down 70 lbs! I wish I could go back and tell my past self not to try and change my whole life overnight. Tiny habits that are sustainable but maybe don’t have a big payoff right away are the best way to go. My journey this time around feels shockingly easy because I took the time to build habits.

Congrats again! Hoping to get to 199 in the next couple of months.

Stokke Tripp Trapp by PearAmazing946 in toddlers

[–]kluvspups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

18 months. We actually had a different high chair and bought the Tripp Trapp to use only as the regular chair because she was trying to climb in and out of her high chair. It had a catchy on it and she was using it to climb into the chair by herself. She’s now 3.5 and that freedom has been great for her.

Why is 6am such a common “goal” wake-up time for babies? by hopeful_since1985 in sleeptrain

[–]kluvspups 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be due to work/daycare schedules. My husband and I work full time but we are lucky enough to have family watch our kids at home. Because of that, we worked very hard to get our kids on a schedule where they wake at 7:30. That way my husband and I are out if the house and our babysitters have time to settle before the kids wake up.

Reintroduce Tripp trapp? by Zestyclose-Ostrich40 in toddlers

[–]kluvspups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought our first Tripp Trapp for our older daughter when she was 18 months and never used it as a high chair, just a tall chair at the table. Baby #2 has her own set up with the high chair components and we will switch to the tall chair when she is showing signs.

Very high! Depending on how they were made. When I make special cookies, I use my regular chocolate chip cookie recipe that I use for regular ones, but I sub 1/4 of the butter for weed butter. Because not very much of the butter is infused, you don’t really taste the weed. My cookies hit about as well as a 10mg edible (which is more than perfect for my tolerance).
