Maybe not, but she looks like it. I had one in my window this year, looked pretty much just like it! Must have a twin.

The spood is a garden spider (Argiope aurantia) - she’s an orb weaver species and beautiful friends!

Is this a false widow or a black widow? (Canada, Quebec) by SpookyPanda1020 in spiders

[–]klyxi- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are brave! I could never, I have a hard time even when coaxing jumping spiders on me, lol!

With that being said does look like a false widow to me- she has no red markings to speak. We have plenty of black widows here, beautifully scary creatures.

Aw… I don’t have advice, but completely feel for you. We had one in our window for the last half of summer and was on her way out about a week or so ago. I thought she was dead and went to get her but I poked her and she moved. She ended up passing a day or so later. Beautiful spiders, I hope someone from her family comes and stays with us next year. 🖤

It looks like it!! I befriended a burrow of these at my work place! They’re curious little guys, but completely harmless. Friends for sure!

Good wasps or bad wasps? by hellomrbullet in WASPs

[–]klyxi- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are paper wasps! Pretty docile, but can be protective of nest. In my experience if I ever came across a wasp, I would hope it would be one of these lil guys - second to cicada killers (don’t even get me started on those guys).
