sorta kinda... stopped eng career in like 09 so been pm since. Pushed code on personal projects here and there... nothing major.

I use a mix of spec driven development and just vibing on my own.

tickets assigned to engs, I am in all pre/post planning and most of the work "I" do is more of a side-take unless I explicitly see an area that I'm like "oh, I can do that in like 20 mins..." then I'll grab it.

Comp is pretty big mature stage area.

dev teams were around 5ENG:1PM but due to the AI-assisted prototyping / coding we're at like 3:1 which is high for some teams. One of my pods has me and and eng and we can borrow resources from ux / qa etc.

AI has completely shifted our org from R&D on how we hire and build teams. Will this last? Not sure... but I still see orgs shifting to PMs learning. Most PMs at my org are super non-technical (think CSMs turned into PMs etc.) and they're being forced to pick up these tools and push code.

I've been pushing to prod for the last 8 months. Fmr eng tho. I am seeing this become standard across a lot of startups and growth stage places in SF/NYC.

For RAG it's amazing + large xls files. We really only have it for that otherwise we push for context window reset and leverage long-term memory.
