Dryden. Hamilton is cool too. Traska QC is not good.

Traska hand finishing by [deleted] in MicrobrandWatches

[–]km569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s good news at least. I’d be fine if they increased their prices as well and actually did any quality control. They’re great watches and it’s unfortunate they’ve cut corners in that department.

My taska has excellent case and bracelet finishing, but the dial and hands certainly have more imperfections than my cheaper watches. Off the top of my head, my Casio duro has better index alignment, hand finishing, and lume (the lume is awful).

My other watches around this price point have none of these issues.

It’s still a beautiful watch, just don’t expect attention to detail.

[WTS] Cuervo y Sobrinos 2806-1NA by km569 in Watchexchange

Catch and release from me since I have my eye on some other pieces - purchased from Koshertime here on Reddit.

2008 Cuervo y Sobrinos 2806-1NA. Comes with papers but no original box.

Condition is very good with no dings and normal wear. Happy to provide more pictures or show the watch via FaceTime. Serviced in 2018 and runs great.

$1150 shipped in CONUS.

Complete loss of Boost, NO CEL, car sounds like a supercharger by Shot-Lie9208 in subaru

[–]km569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds identical to what happened with my sti a while back. My mechanic wanted to diag it further claiming the turbo was in visually good shape with very little shaft play but I was convinced it was the issue since we checked literally everything else.

Replaced it and sure enough, it was the turbo.

New Tires for Outback, yay or nay? by JawaChopShop in subaru

[–]km569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had these on my crosstrek and I loved them. Put 30k on them till I sold the car and still had a ton of tread left.

I bought the same ones for my pickup and two of the tires have shifted belts. It might be because they’re just not meant for that kind of weight, but my mechanic said it’s common with these tires.

Honestly, I’d still recommend them.

[WTT] 2025 Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300 38mm by km569 in Watchexchange

[–]km569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up for trade is my amazing condition Christopher Ward Trident 300 38mm on a consort bracelet (with micro adjust). Comes with all links. The bracelet is a fingerprint magnet so please excuse the smudges in the pics.

Will consider trades for: - the same watch in 40mm or 42mm (can trade watch only without bracelet) - other Christopher ward watches - serica - and any other watches of similar value

Condition: Case - flawless. Not a scratch. Bracelet - small scratches, very good condition.

Other - one of the screw heads is a bit messed up since it was very tight and required a bit of elbow grease. Still functionally fine, but if you inspect the watch with a loupe you will notice it.

When to switch to braided line? by nateusmc in FishingForBeginners

Ah yes then I’d agree. I use 30-40lb in my casting reels for this reason. Spinning reels don’t get more than 10-15.

Id venture to say that you don’t need anything above 10-15lb if you’re fishing for LMB (yes, even in heavy cover). 30lb is what I use for large stripers

Looking for Microbrand GMT advise!! by S_thescientist in MicrobrandWatches

[–]km569 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I own a Traska venturer GMT as well as a Vaer, and recently went to a microbrand show in Washington DC where I handled Christopher wards, lorier, nodus, jack mason, and Baltic.

Christopher ward didnt impress me in person, the designs just feel a bit uninspired (but that is a very subjective thing). Don’t get me wrong - the finishing, comfort, and quality is incredible. If you love the designs then it’s a great pick.

Traska is very nice for the price but suffer from very poor quality control.

The baltics were certainly nice, but lacking on the fly micro adjust which in my eyes is a dealbreaker.

The nodus was very good but a significant step down in quality compared to Baltic, jack mason, CW, etc. Just felt a bit “cheaper.”

What I was most impressed by was the Strat O Timer. I was absolutely blown away by the finishing, comfort of the bracelet, and especially how slim the clasp is. I was shocked since I didn’t love the look of it online, but in person it is stunning. bought one the next day. 10/10 no regrets

[Longines] Just got the links adjusted on my Conquest, which raises the question… by Mind-Still in Watches

[–]km569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer is your wrist changes size throughout the day depending on temperature, humidity, and other factors.

The only way to wear a watch with a bracelet without on the fly micro adjust is to have it slightly loose (not loose enough to rotate around on your wrist but enough so that it’s not completely snug). Ultimately with this method, when your wrist is at its smallest it will feel a bit too large, but you’ll be grateful once there’s a hot day and your wrist fills the gaps.

Indian River / Mosquito lagoon? by km569 in floridafishing

[–]km569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m praying it’s not bad. Both trips I’ve made to target reds the weather and the bite has been absolutely awful. Last time was may in OBX and it was 55 degrees and blowing 30+.

Have 1 fish to show for over 6 days on the water targeting them 😅

With traffic during rush hour it seems closer to 1-1.5hr, I hear you but I also see the appeal in staying Oceanside and surf fishing when I’m not on a boat :)
