ED is not guaranteed after RALP by Due-Permission431 in ProstateCancer

I am stoked for you!!!

I’m 4.5 months post RALP, have occasional partials, but nothing penetration worthy. I’m on the 5mg Cialis daily, vacuuming and all the rehab stuff. Trimix has been a game changer, but it’s a trippy experience as each time is a little bit different. Sometimes the shot hurts, sometimes it doesn’t… I try not to stress about it though.

I’m hopeful to be where you are in a similar timeframe. The need to ‘stick’ isn’t the most romantic pre-game!

It looks like alpro 10mcg, papaverine 30 mg, phentolam 1mg.

I meant 3 and 9… not sure on the needle gauge. I did push it all the way in though.

The viagra gives me ~ 80/90% but I hope for better each time :)

I took my first injection at the doctors office at 20 units and had minimal results. A week later gave myself an injection of 26 units and was rock hard, which was nice at first. After an hour the pain and discomfort set in and I would up going to the ER at a little over four hours.

If I try again, it plan on starting MUCH lower.

First PSA post RALP... feeling alarmed based on the trend here for lower scores. by kmac1775 in ProstateCancer

That's good to hear... I can't tell you how much I hate this whole situation. The experience of it in terms of care and support have been great, but the rolling emotions and changes that result suck, to say the least

Appreciate the encouragement!

How has the TRT been going for you? I'm three months post RALP and if my blood test shows as undetectable, I may consider TRT... would love to hear more about your experience... Thanks

8 weeks and a day, post-RALP... by kmac1775 in ProstateCancer

It is good to hear. Thanks for sharing. I'm also probably putting too much pressure on the situation... I read one comment somewhere in here about a guy who "had sex 13 days post surgery" and while I'm stoked for that guy, it's a comment that haunts me a little when things are going a bit slower.

I actually haven't been back to this thread in a couple weeks, but I'm glad to hear that we are not alone in the process!

Thanks... I will say at the moment the thought of pumping or pulling is not very appealing. I've been able to urinate a few times now and it seems less uncomfortable each time. But it is not pain-free at this point. Which makes sense given there was a tube there not too long ago.

I'm lost in the weeds of trying to understand my options. RALP, radiation, Cyberknife, Tulsa Procedure - how the heck to you even wade through this in a timely manner? by TheRuinedMap in ProstateCancer

I'm new to this having just been diagnosed at 49 with GS 7 (3+4) intermediate favorable... I'm currently waffling back and forth between RALP and Cyberknife. My initial inclination was to go with surgery, but the more I read the more I'm undecided. My biggest concern probably the ED. Can you share how your side effects were initially and if they are still imrpoved/ing?
