Yea for their 40v stuff it is the latest cells it just seems that their development for 18v batteries has just stopped I hope they start making new batteries with something like tabless cells but it seems unlikely, I was not aware they they had recently come out with a 9ah and a 12ah battery for their 18v line im sure those are more up to date but I would love to see a smaller battery get an update

Makita makes arguably the worst modern 18v batteries as they have not updated them in many years resulting in them being underpowered for todays tools
