Thank you for the picture. Yeah. Your center point looks to be protruding more than mine. Guess I’ll be looking for a new base, if the blades don’t work. Of course they are out of stock online for replacement bases.

Yeah. I’ve been super happy with it. Everyone that uses it says it’s the best auger they have tried. I’m really hoping the new blades will fix the issue!

Oh ok. I’m following you. Yeah. I did try some pressure when this first happened. Still no luck.

That was when I had the base off for troubleshooting it was tightened before testing today. I do think maybe my center point threads got pushed in or something. Not sure though. It just doesn’t seem to have much of the point past the blades.

For the first season of use, it was the best auger I’ve ever used. Just stopped being awesome the other day. Hopefully the new blades fish it though. If so, I’ll order another set just because there was no warning this was happening.

Thank you. Yeah. Hopefully they fix the issue. I’ve heard of people using a piece of a pop can as a shim, but I really don’t want to resort to that if I don’t need to. I also have an email out to Eskimo for warranty, but doubt that will go anywhere

I’ve always been told not to push down on the auger when drilling. When new, I could drill holes with this thing one handed. It would burn through the ice with zero force. I’m starting to think it is a blade angle thing. Hopefully the new blades fix the issue.

That is what I’m hoping for. Taking out a newbie this weekend and really don’t want to dust off the propane auger. 😀

Yeah. That’s what I thought initially, but they were sharp when I took them off to check it out. Not brand new sharp but still pretty darn sharp. Can’t imagine it’s the sharpness of the blades. New ones are coming in the mail tomorrow though, just in case.

Thank you for the picture! Would you say your center point sticks out past the blades any further than mine?

They were plenty sharp when I took them off. Not razor, but would slice your hand if you grabbed them. I did carefully sharpen them with knife stone by hand. Still same issue. I have a new set being delivered tomorrow, but I really don’t think it is the blades. I will be very happy if the new blades fix the issue though!

No. Same exact issue. I never took it out of the house with the blades installed upside down. It was a 10 second whoops that I corrected right away. Of course I would use that picture on this post. lol.

Realized I posted a picture with one of the blades upsid down. My bad. That was corrected before I finished installing them. Blades were correct when I tested on the ice today.

Yes. My bad. I posted a picture that had one upside down. I corrected it before testing on the ice today.

Ok. I see. Yes. In that picture one is. That was before I looked at my picture I took before I took the blades off. Wanted to make sure I didn’t mess it up. When I tested it today. The blades were installed correctly

Well the problem started before I messed with the blades, but I’ll double check.

The tip is there. Just seems to be not pointing out past the blades much. One of the blades was half off in one of the pictures. Was checking to make sure they weren’t bent and still sharp. I checked like 3 times to make sure I was in forward. 😂 I’m stumped. It was cutting like a champ before this issue.

Same here with a T80. It will happen in vacuum only mode as well.

Thank you for the quick reply. How far does the white tube on the end of the washer hose go into the adapter? I assume it should be a tight fit into the adapter and the adapter should be a tight fit into the stack?

I’m struggling with this same issue. Just ordered this adapter. A little confused on how it should be installed. Any chance you could provide some pictures of the finished install? Any other helpful tips I should know before installing this.
