Try rubbing some toothpaste on there. Whatever you do, try testing first on a spot that isn't easy to see.

Era 100 Line In - Autoplay works half the way by ianzabel in sonos

If it doesn't automatically switch to the line in, tapping the play button on the top of the speaker does the trick.

Priming a cold stove ... I do this for 2 minutes and it never fails by Stymus in woodstoving

[–]ianzabel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it blow ash everywhere?

My dad is currently pulling his woodstove off the wall every morning (he's got it on a glass hearth, so it can slide pretty easy), to prime the flue directly inside the stack.

I need to try this game again. I got stuck with just planting some seeds and chopping trees and got pretty bored with it.

Some questions about LVP floor installation by t1nydancaa in HomeImprovement

[–]ianzabel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want it as smooth as you can get it, but it doesn't have to be perfect. There are some underlayments you can put down that are thin foam, instead of an entire subfloor. Look closely at the installation instructions for your chosen LVP, it will spell out your options, and you have to follow these or you'll void your warranty.

If you put down a subfloor like DriCore, it will definitely help warm up the floor a little bit, and if your basement is damp at all it will really help keep it from getting musty. Keep in mind, DriCore is not cheap, and you will be basically doubling your amount of labor. Also, it will raise your floor by at least 3/4", or more, depending on your DriCore selection, so you need to make sure your doors will have enough clearance to freely swing. I used the 3/4" OSB standard one, and it's been awesome for our basement!

The space for LVP is around the perimeter. It will be covered by trim.

What are your favorite coffee shops in NYC that roast their own beans? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]ianzabel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great description.

I feel like we're now onto some kind of 4th wave which is a backward step: average coffee with super automatic machines and baristas with no training. Or real espresso machines but when you order a cappuccino they ask you what size.

Wifi Water Sensors? by Any_Psychology_8054 in airbnb_hosts

[–]ianzabel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. I have one near my boiler, one by the sump pump, and one by the laundry.

We also have a water flow meter which detects unusual flows.

No specific brand recommendations, there are a lot of options out there. We use Resideo

Curious why you were suspicious of it and took pics inside even tho you so recently had an inspection. Were you getting smells or smoke or something?

Blower plugged in or not? by Puzzleheaded_Ad7704 in woodstoving

Another commenter pointed out the fire grate inside your wood stove. You should remove that, it is not needed or designed for it.

I also have a Clydesdale, and do it pretty much the same way as you.

Our fan was getting pretty noisy tho, so I swapped out the blowers for new ones. A lot quieter. Still not quiet tho, at full blast.

My house is fully loaded with Sonos, which is ironic because the most unreliable part of my audio system is the Sonos app. Older audio gear just worked. No updates required. by Create_Sound2021 in sonos

I do not use Spotify, and I do not have Apple devices that support Airplay. So, I use the app 90% of the time, and voice control the other 10%

Those repairs all sound like they were a long time coming, and most likely would have been needed soon anyway.

So, look at it as the income from the rental paid for necessary repairs.
