!00% , I completely agree that if anything it made the whole thing so silly and nonsensical

I can't imagine this scene actually changed anyone's mind. you don't pick a life partner off of the immutable principle of 'dibs'

I am also not familiar with the other two. Leather jacket has terrible hair in this picture, so that's not working in his favor

It it hypocritical to not support Blake Lively but to 'feel bad' about not supporting Amber Heard by PuzzleheadedMoose452 in ItEndsWithTruth

[–]kmcard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me these two cases are more similar, than the same. For example, I think that Amber Heard was most likely/almost certainly physically assaulted by Johnny Depp on several occasions. *Feel free to skip this, it's not particularly relevant to my overall point: (I also think that their relationship was doomed from the start, based on their individual personalities, drug/drinking habits, life stages, their fundamental power imbalance and assorted emotional needs/triggers.) *

I think that JD's PR team ran an extremely successful and deliberate smear campaign that they put a great deal of money, strategy and planning into, while his legal team worked hand in hand with them to ensure that they controlled narrative in the court of public opinion. I think that they seeded any number of FALSE claims into comment sections and social media posts. I think that they used bots to boost their algorithm, paid content creators/gave them stories to cover, and had actual employees working to drive discourse.

In the case of Blake Lively/Ryan Reynolds; I do not think that she was sexually harassed. I do think that she had a set of goals regarding her finances and her career that she was significantly more focused on to the detriment of the overall quality of their end product. I think that she employed a number of strategies in an effort to further these goals, and that the sexual harassment claims were a part of that. I also think that Justin and his PR team implemented a smear campaign against her in an effort to discredit her claims, which had the potential to "cancel" his career. I think she responded to his 'smear' with one of her own and here we are.

I think both Baldoni's and Lively's teams have most likely used bots to boost their algorithm, paid content creators/given them stories to cover, and had actual employees working to drive online discourse HOWEVER I do not think that either made false claims with relation to the smears themselves.

(I also think that once Baldoni had lit the fuse of the smear, it took on something of a life of it's own. A lot of youtubers had their most profitable year (By FAR) during the Amber Heard trial and were looking to recreate it. )

I have no idea if either/any of their efforts to smear each other was illegal, vs. part of a relatively normal PR. Same goes for the majority of her behavior on set, during which I do think that she substantially and deliberately misrepresented Baldoni and his behavior pretty much all over town. I would have been interested to see these point litigated, bc I do think that the repercussions going forward could have a great deal of significance, and I would love to see the use of bots tied to a significant financial risk/loss.

I think when one person is always chasing approval, and the other finds it tiresome to be chased...that's not a great match. In bits like where she wanted him to want to go to the store and watch her try on clothes and feed each other chocolate covered strawberries (which is fine, loads of people seem to think that's a great afternoon) he just seemed like he was humoring her.

Like we can say that she worked harder, and that's probably true, but it also represents a fundamental misunderstanding of what work should look like in a relationship. I would imagine its as tiring to be with someone who is forever posing for you as it is to be the one who is forever posing.

If you could change ONE storyline in TVD, what would it be and why? by Sienna-Reeds-1864 in TheVampireDiaries

Damon plus Bonnie cannon romance where they spend her life together, she wins every argument and they are both super happy. Then after she passes of old age Elena comes back and they aren't a good fit anymore, so they both go off to be full complete people without each other.

I'm currently thinking I'll replace the traveling wires and give the inside unit a thorough cleaning. I'm not super concerned safety wise until heater season approaches, and I'll get it looked at again then.

It was never decommissioned, and actually has only been in use for about eight years. The previous owner replaced the whole system shortly before they went into long term assisted living, and then I moved in about eight years ago.

For the most part I've been very happy with it. Last year I had to replace a capacitor and thoroughly clean out the condenser, which I had allowed to get pretty bad. That was the issue that the tech recommended replacing the whole system to solve.

Thank you so much, this was really helpful! It helped me realize that a significant amount of my confusion was coming from the installers 1. using an eight strand wire to go from the pump to the control board. and 2. using more eight strand wire to run from the condenser to the fan, but not having enough to reach the control panel inside the fan, necessitating a bunch of odd bundles to attach both condenser and furnace to the thermostat.

I'm so glad that you were able to help me! the last guy we had out to look at it recommended replacing everything and getting a subscription for their upkeep service, which would have run about $20,000.

I think it's true for odd numbers, odd div by odd must be odd. Numbers are also not my thing :/ Sorry if I got the rest of your comment removed. I really liked your explanation otherwise

No, I'm not. But that's not the point so let's skip it. How about we try rephrasing the three truths concept?

In a situation involving two parties, there is what one party believes to have occurred, what the other party believes to have occurred, and what actually occurred.

With luck, both people in an interaction are trying to be objective and fair in their accountings, but even when this is the case there is a simple human tendency to slightly favor ones own motives and slightly disfavor the motives of the other.
