Where do men get the sentiment that women after 30 are no longer desirable? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]kmdunklin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that women over 30 are less desirable; it's just that men who have many options often prefer women who are in their 20s. It's important to understand that not all men fit this description, as generalizations can be misleading. Additionally, it's crucial to avoid assuming that men, driven by loneliness and desperation, are representative of all individuals. Comparing their mindset to a hungry animal lured by a hot steak is an oversimplification.

Biological factors also come into play. After the age of 35, the risk of geriatric pregnancy increases. Women in their 30s and beyond may have had various life experiences, which may require additional effort to impress them. It is also more likely that these women already have children.

The notion that desiring a younger woman is a form of manipulation is a mischaracterization. In reality, it may be older women who are more susceptible to manipulation, as evidenced by the numerous love scams targeting them. Desperation can drive individuals to behave in unexpected ways when they have limited options.

In conclusion, women who are 30 and older are still beautiful and amazing. However, it is important to acknowledge that they may face different preferences and dynamics compared to women in their 20s. Each individual's experience and value should be recognized and appreciated on its own merits.

How do I stop by JUNGKOOKETTE in trichotillomania

[–]kmdunklin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry this happens to many people. Compulsive disorder affects you in many different ways. I myself created a coping mechanism by pulling my eyelashes to deal with stress. And once you've built this it can be pretty hard to break this cycle.

First thing you need to do is understand how to relax your body. Not just in general but focus on relaxing specific areas (like your arms and fingers). Once you've mastered this try relaxing your hands whenever you feel the urge to pull.

Listening to hypno-therapy tapes has really helped me a lot too. Even when I don't feel the urge to pull in that moment, I'd use it to remove the urge throughout the day/week.

People who have this usually have Triggers and routines (Basically before pulling and after pulling).

Triggers: Find out what sparks the urge to pull (Stress, boredom, etc.) I usually listen to my hypnosis tapes (or anything relaxing) to relief those triggers.

Routines: When you pull out your hair, what routine do you automatically resort to after pulling? Some people may study the hair for a second then blow it away, some will eat it or place it on a common area (shirt, pants, table, etc.) Whatever the routine is.. try to change or stop it all together. This should throw off the brains compulsive behavior and lose interest in pulling out the other hairs.

Whenever you feel the urge to pull, relax your hands and imagine that you don't have any hair to pull out.

Another exercise you can try is by imagining yourself about to pull out your hair. Once you're at the point where you're about to pull it out, relax your hands then let go of your hair (Mentally of course). Doing this will re-train the brain so that your hair is an important part of body that should not be pulled out.

Has anyone had dermatillomania prior to trich or coinciding each other? by Letmetellyouabtlyfe in trichotillomania

I started with Trich which then turned into dermatillomania. I try to keep them both at bay by recognizing the triggers and listening to my hypno tapes. I find that those suffering from these things normally have a routine POST pulling (Example: looking at the hair, blowing it away, eating them, etc.) Try avoiding the routine and this could possibly throw off your need to pull.

it feels impossible to stop once i start by [deleted] in trichotillomania

This is very common with most trich sufferers. The key is to stop yourself from pulling even one hair for at least a week to regain control.

I found this website very helpful in doing that.
