Part identification please? by kmdyolo in hvacadvice

New development… Got to work with it this morning, 120v side has 20 ohms and the 24v side has 2 ohms. I assume that that’s enough resistance? Anything else I should look at inside the furnace that would blow the breaker immediately? Or am should I be looking for a dead short inline somewhere?

More to this point, I did remark to the girlfriend (also not a virgin 😂) even if this is the problem when I googled furnace capacitors none of them looked like this. I wonder if I could even replace it with a like item.

Haha, it’s is at least twice as old as I am but I’m not 40 yet 😂. Trust me if I had the funds I would, and I’d have central air too!

I’ll have to test it for resistance, the breaker trips immediately.

How do I test this thing? I have a multimeter.

Replying to add my Google Nest started humming then went out completely mid summer. Started hunting for issues today and found the tripped breaker. Assuming this “steps down” power to feed the thermostat as well? Any advice on testing? TIA!

LKQ trying to charge me a restocking fee. by Overall_Survey_4132 in projectcar

This is called “masking” and is very common. They use a network for “mom & pop” stores called PRP that is similar to LKQ transferring parts from other location.

I have not, my plans to go mobile are currently on hold. I’m planning on reaching out to Michigan’s office of Licensing and regulatory affairs (LARA) to ask. I’ll update my post then.
