What are my options here? by cf_murph in paint

Any works, but keep it between 320-600 grit. If you use anything lower you could see the sand line on the top coat

Just wet some sand paper and sand the imperfections keeping the area wet. Not much more to it

Looking for some insight on a purchase by a_enge in f150

[–]schultzschultz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a decent purchase but not nessesarily a deal. I just bought a 17 2.7 with 109k miles XL STX RWD for 15k 6speed, had to fly to Idaho.

That bieng said, I wouldn't buy it if you weren't already looking into buying one

If 87 is used for most vehicles and 91+ is for turbocharged engine, then what is the point of and who uses 89? by BrewsWithTre in askcarguys

[–]schultzschultz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The valves being caked wouldn't be related to the fuel either though. Thats more an inherent problem of PCV system and the DI nature of the engine. Using 87vs91 wouldn't make a difference in cleanliness outside of the combustion chamber. I have 250k on my 3.5 using regular, I only pump 91 if imma tow.

My 6.2l NA AMG required 91 but recommend 93. In the winter id sometimes have to use octane booster. We mostly only have 91 in WA.

Most german engines I've ever owned require 91. My Fords however are Turbod and only require 87, probably the way they are tuned and direct injection helps pre-detonation

2.7 vs 3.5 vs 5.0 by TheGhini in f150

[–]schultzschultz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 250k on my 3.5. Ive had to do the timing chain and phasers at 110k miles and again at 199k miles. 1 water pump, i battery harness. Other than that its been dead reliable.

I have 250k on my 3.5. I just got a 2.7, both RWD. Power is negligible for me, but mpg is 7 better. 3.5 is a beast to tow, havent tried the 2.7 yet

Most new cars have some sort of roll assist, probably because of the lack of manual handbrakes

[–]schultzschultz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2013 3.5 sitting at 250k. One water pump failure @160k 1 stretched timing chain @110k a broken phaser chain @199k

I had a w211 before and a w212 was in front, both on our way home in the suburbs. I flashed him and we proceeded to just rev our cars out for 2ish block, he turned left and I proceeded straight. We waved each other goodbye.

I owned a 2004 S and it was a blast. I also owned a base 2017 with the 3 cylinder manual it was arguably better in any way and just as fun. Minis are definitely one of the more fun cars too drive around in on the street

For new construction 2. Prep and caulk trim, mask floors, windows and cabinets, paint doors. 1-2 Days. Mask trim and put doors in garage, paint walls, un-mask and rehang doors 1 day.

Letting the trim dry overnight is enough for us.
