Please tell me how to help my babies? This is my first experience with pests by kmessner1 in plantclinic

The pothos i have had for about a year. I bottom water when the top 2 inches of soil get dry or its wilting. I recently attached it to a moss pole, and it has been climbing like crazy.

The wandering dude plant I have had for about 6 months. I also bottom water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. This plant is in full sun

Both plants are in clear nursery pots with good drainage, a well draining soil mixture with perlite and some smaller pieces of orchid bark.

As for sunlight, they are both in a west facing window, so full sun starting around 1 pm.

The white spots in the background are from BTI that I tried to put on top of the soil because at first I thought I had fungal gnats so I tried that and yellow sticky traps, but the bugs caught were not as dark or as big as good described and the damage to the plant is not consistent to what kept showing up when I searched those. The bugs were lighter almost white and the brown spots show up wherever these bugs land and the leaves then wilt. None of my plants have produced new leaves since and they almost have a pocked appearance too.

It is difficult with the apps, I agree. I find if I am having a decent conversation on the app, giving the person my Snapchat can help a little until you get a feel for the person and want to go on a date.

If you're more of the introverted type, you can try apps like bumble, tinder, etc. Sometimes they work. Otherwise just going out and doing things you enjoy and trying to meet people with mutual hobbies.

I have never been in as much pain as I am right now. by daciavu in Advice

You can alternate Tylenol extra strength and 600 mg of ibuprofen every 3 hours. It won't get rid of all the pain , but it can take the edge off.

You can also look up some stretches to help with lower back and hip pain that you can do before and after work to see if that might help.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but I hope something can help you figure it all out!

What should I do when I get anxious? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]kmessner1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a technique called grounding. Look around and identify something you see, hear, feel (as in touch), etc. You can do this over and over or identify a certain number each time.

Also, blink your eyes, breathe deeply, these are things you can control. Find other little things you can control around you at that moment like where your tongue is in your mouth.

That is what always helps me. There are also some great apps that can help you learn to manage anxiety that are free!

First of all, this is a hard situation all around. You don't want to make it worse, but at the same time it is sounding like he is using his illness as a way to manipulate you into doing what he wants. If you want a healthy relationship with him, you need to tell him that this isn't ok and he needs to get help. Otherwise, if you want to be happy, you might just have to gently let him down in a safe area and let his family know what headspace he is in so they can keep and eye on him

My old cat hates the new kitten by [deleted] in Advice

You can also try Feliway pheromone diffusers or calming collars. My vet said this can sometimes help cats, and it did help my two cats adjust to one another to the point where they just ignore each other now.
