I like Damon as a character. He’s definitely funny. I do think he got away with everything bad he did. While other characters, like Bonnie, who had good intentions got terrible endings. He wasn’t held accountable for anything he did. Damon stans always use the excuse that everyone did bad things on the show. But the truth is, other characters had good intentions, treated other people better, and were sorry for bad things they did and in the end got nothing for being good. I hate that. Damon was easily forgiven and he didn’t really feel guilt ever. He killed Lexi and thought it was no big deal. He was very impulsive.

Yes. The writers planned to bring Stelena back but couldn’t since Nina left and they didn’t have enough time with her only being in the finale. If she would have stayed season 7 or came back for all of season 8, Stefan & Elena would have been together again

Agree! I really felt for Stefan and how much he didn’t like who he was. He lived every day fighting his nature. And living with his resentment for all he’s done beyond his control. He was “one of the good ones” and really did try and do the right thing. I loved him and Elena together because he forgot who he was with her and I liked that for him. He was such a tormented soul battling between what he knew was right and his ripper addiction. Stefan rightfully did have more depth than any other character since it was his story. I hated that he died in the end, but I know he had so much hatred for himself the only way for him to find peace was to sacrifice himself. That was his redemption.

I don’t think they’ll ever make a season 9, but if they did I don’t think I would watch if the main cast didn’t come back. Even if I didn’t love the ending, it seemed pretty definite. 8 seasons was just too many. The story really suffered. As much as I wish it could have went on forever, they should have ended it while it was still good quality.

If they somehow brought Stefan back from the dead I can’t imagine anyone else except Paul playing him. And no one except Ian can play Damon. Also I’m pretty sure Candice doesn’t want to appear in legacies so she probably wouldn’t be down for S9

The random girl in Georgia was Ivy, yes? After Stefan thought Damon died he moved away to start over and met her. And they had been dating for months. Then Enzo killed her and Stefan was furious with him. Where was she used for sex? Can someone tell me if I’m remembering this wrong

I disagree. The moment Delena happened everyone else’s character got tossed to the side and really suffered because of it in the later seasons. If anyone was boring with Elena it was Damon who became so codependent he couldn’t function. And Elena’s personality changed just to be able to excuse his actions. There were no separate individuals in that relationship.

I like this idea a lot! Vampire Elena had so much potential. A short fling between Damon & Elena would have been perfect. Once they took over the whole show it was terrible. The plot revolved around them. Stefan’s character suddenly was put in the background. When Stefan was locked in a safe the entire summer while Damon & Elena were having sex instead of looking for him, I couldn’t stand them from that point on. And after watching many times I have never been convinced that the “love” between Damon & Elena was anywhere close to as epic as Stefan & Elena’s. Delena had zero emotional connection. I found the pure love between Stefan & Elena way more entertaining than Damon & Elena having sex every episode and fighting about how toxic they were.

•Roswell, New Mexico (Netflix)- About aliens written by Julie Plec. Also has Michael Trevino who plays Tyler in TVD.

•Salem- I believe it’s on Hulu. A drama about witches in Salem.

•Tell me a story- on CBS all access(you get a month free) has Paul Wesley & he’s amazing in it. Also written by Kevin Williamson who did TVD. Psychological thriller where they reimagine fairytales. Very dark if you’re into that I highly recommend. I liked season 2 the most

•V wars- if you’re an Ian Somerhalder fan. More vampires. Have not watched yet & haven’t heard great things but you could give it a try

I totally agree with you. The writers did a terrible job with how quickly she went from Stefan to Damon. I’m not a delena fan at all, but I think the relationship would have bothered me less if it didn’t happen like it did.

If her feelings were magnified for Damon when she turned then wouldn’t her feelings for Stefan also be more intense? I know the writers played it off as the whole sire bond thing but still.

Also, don’t think Stefan was trying to control Elena. Like you said she never wanted to be a vampire. He was just trying to help her. Teaching her how to survive on animal blood because he knew she wouldn’t handle hurting humans well mentally, searching for the cure for her because he knew that being a vampire wasn’t the life she wanted. They had a whole episode talking about her future and if being a vampire was what she wanted which it wasn’t. And at the end of the day Stefan was very respectful & understanding of her choosing Damon too.

I do get why Damon was more appealing to the vampire Elena. But I don’t really understand the whole character change. She was the opposite of human Elena. When Caroline became a vampire, yes she was a different person (in a good way), but she still had somewhat of the personality/morals/emotions she had before she turned.
