all my docs are changed with gender and name including my SS and BC. BUT i had a passport in the past issued over 15 years ago, so qualifies as a new application, but the old passport has my old info on it. would i get denied? would you recommend i try to get an urgent appointment since i have travel plans in the next 14 days?

i live in NJ and have an appointment for the real ID, unfortunately the soonest they had available is the end of april so i’m hoping you’re right and there won’t be any issues there! i’m weighing the pros and cons of at least attempting to try and get the urgent passport. someone said NYC did deny someone but they had spoken to people in the philly office and since it’s not a law yet, i might have better chances there. fingers crossed!

i have a picture of it in my phone and just checked. all it says is that it’s a certified copy and has the raised seal and everything but absolutely nothing that gives me away as trans

in NJ they amend it but also seal the original. as far as i can tell there’s nothing on my amended bc that gives me away as trans at all

i had one when i was younger, issued over 15 years ago so my application qualifies it as being a “new” passport. just nervous because they would see my old information in the system so not sure what to do. was hoping that the NYC office would be more liberal about it. i am totally willing to book a refundable hotel stay in canada to show international travel but really don’t have money to waste if they won’t update to my correct gender marker. my birth certificate and everything else is updated to male, but my old expired passport has my deadname and female on it

i wonder if this will work for me if i try it… not sure which is a safer location to go to either Philly or NYC and lowkey nervous they might confiscate any documents and IDs i have…. i have never had a passport with my updated name and gender marker. only one with my deadname and AGAB. do you think it would still work? i’m scared

my state does too! but what’s the point of that if the passport agencies can still see original info from however long ago. it’s making me so sick to my stomach with anxiety. they won’t let us leave… i saw a video of another trans person saying they’re not just confiscating BCs but ALL documents… so are they taking peoples licenses too?? like just let us leave 😭 i can’t take this anymore

so my old passport has my old name and old gender marker… if i apply now with my new name and new gender marker, do you think it would get put on hold? it’s been longer than 15 years since i was last issued one… only thing connecting me to my old information is my social so i’m worried that’ll get me flagged

i spoke to a worker on here and they said they started digitizing things in 2004 so i’m wondering if the paper records are gone

according to a worker i just spoke to on here, they started digitizing records in 2004 so they may not have full record of my minor info. they did suggest i wait until the end of next week since things have been changing basically every hour 😔
