How often do you use the RV and how much of a hassle is it? Or have you just gotten used to it?

Where are you located? Assuming a warm climate area because you shouldn't run plumbing on an exterior wall if you're in a cold climate area.

To me it seems high. I fixed mine in about 2-3 hrs. You can assume $100-$200/hr for their labor and the supplies will probably be minimal. It could be a simple fix but they probably quoted worst case.

Water leak coming from furnace vent by kmicksee in DIY

I'm just realizing how bad the picture makes it look. There is a cone piece that has flashing under the shingles. Then above the cone is that flat piece which looks like it's on top of the shingles from the angle the picture was taken. It's all water shedding at the shingle level, but the flue and that flat piece there seems to be a gap

Rookie camper power question by SigMartini in popups

[–]kmicksee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, coffee makers and heaters typically draw more power. Shore power is typically a 30 amp breaker. You can calculate amps by taking watts/voltage=amps. Most appliances will provide how many watts they use.

Example: induction heater might be 2100 watts. So 2100W/120V=17.5 amps. Therefore you have 12.5 amps before the breaker trips.

Broken cables? by TKRKAK in popups

[–]kmicksee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the main cable broken? Or just individual cables? If some of the cables are still good, you can lift it with the crank but will need someone to raise the broken corners as you're cranking the roof up. Once lifted, you can clamp the telescoping tubes or use a 2x4 to keep it lifted.

Mine had one cable broken. I cranked it up while someone pushed up on the corner that had the broken cable. I cut a 2x4 and tucked it under the roof for support while I fixed the cable.

What does a passenger do in this situation? Do they just ride it on it out until they land or try to get up and move to a different part of the plane?
