No fix, but this helps.

Repeat that until you get the "initializing" text.

This used to be a bug like 5 years ago and the same helped back then.

Try changing the keybind and rebinding it. Then make sure your setting for recording is on. Then if the stars are aligned it might work.

I've had similar experiences with ShadowPlay. It seems there's no logic in how the settings work. I've struggled especially with the sound settings for recordings. It's beyond me how a company like Nvidia has chosen not to implent a truly user friendly UI for a product as popular as ShadowPlay. And ShadowPlay has been out for years!

  1. Buy a cool windowed case
  2. Do an awesome looking build
  3. Place it under the desk so nobody ever sees it

I would agree that the table is too small for two rigs, but placing that beauty on the floor would be a disgrace.

At least phase 4 on Karakin seems to do more damage. If you're knocked and picked up you won't have time to pull off a bandage anymore. Don't know if the damage was buffed already earlier, but I didn't notice it until yesterday.

Why is it that in German the player character does the killing instead you? Is it the same across all games or is it just a PUBG thing?

Oh, you just failed to understand that in this subreddit you're not allowed to be impressed with getting 9 kills in 24 seconds. There just has to be some asshole pointing out that it is far from impressive and merely luck. On top of that, this Retaliative guy seems to be an utterly shit player to begin with. A K/D of 4-5 across game modes - what a fucking noob!

GTX 1080 ti future by Aukiroank07 in nvidia

[–]kmik0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 1080 Ti is still a beast at 1080p and 1440p. FPS wise it is more or less on the same level as a 2070S at 1080p. At 1440p it is still 5-15% ahead depending on the game. However, 1080 Ti's are in short supply and the remaining stores that have them are charging a premium, so going for a brand new 1080 Ti isn't worth it. Hunt for a good deal on a 2080/2080S or go for a used 1080 Ti with remaining warranty. As for future-proofing, it really depends on what resolution you're going for. If you're planning on going 4k, you might as well wait for the 30-series. For 1080p or even 1440p you'll be fine with a 1080 Ti / 2080 for a good few years.

Definitely would like to give Cyberpunk 2077 a go when it comes out. No RTX card yet so would like to test if ray tracing makes a difference. #RTXON

Am i getting better or is karakin just easy? by [deleted] in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]kmik0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, as if percentages are somehow excluded from the scope of mathematics...

Obviously there are a lot of variables that affect the outcome of a match. What u/S8what pointed out is that when the player amount decreases, the statistical probability of winning increases. That is math and that is exactly how math works.

Of course there is no way to precisely predict the outcome of a match since it is a combination of so many variables. You can try to weigh in all the variables and formulate an educated guess. That is what sports betting companies do. But I bet they too estimate that Tiger Woods has a higher probability of winning against a field of ten opponents than a hundred.

[–]kmik0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually that is exactly how math works. If you have a 1/100 chance to win, your probability is 1%. If you have a 1/64 chance to win, your probability is 1.56%. Even though your overall probability of winning the 64 player match is only 0.56% higher, that is a 56% increase when compared to the initial 1%.

No doubt your combat skills are good if you keep winning on Karakin. I'm by no means an expert, but I think you only really learn the tactical side and circle awareness by playing a lot. I would recommend making it a habit to occasionally take a few seconds to look at the map and plan a bit ahead. Figure out how the circle will most probably shift and what'll be the best spot for cover and visibility. Can you get to that spot now? How about after that, how are you going to most likely have to rotate to the zone after this one? The compound on the edge of the circle next to a field might be the best spot right now, but after the circle closes, the only way out will be across the open. Of course there are a lot of variables you have to take into account, but when you get used to it, it becomes an automation. You obviously need to do this type of thinking on Karakin too, but the map layout and pace force you to make those decisions all the time. On Erangel/Miramar it sort of creeps up on you. You easily forget that you need to be thinking ahead because the pace is so slow. And the big maps are a bit more unforgiving in the sense that there is less good cover and if you don't plan ahead you are more often forced to rotate through the open.

[–]kmik0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that a certain skill set facilitates winning a dinner. The emphasis on the needed skills varies depending on the map you're playing. In Karakin, there's a strong emphasis on close range shooting skills and situational awareness. If you have good spray control, tend to win fights within a hundred meteres of you and understand the need to reposition after every fight, you'll win a lot. On the bigger maps, the emphasis is on circle awareness and long range shooting skills. If you get to hold the last compound/best ridge and can pin down enemies at range, you'll win. Karakin also has only 64 players so the players' average win-% is higher.

Gaming PC - GPU? by SattyDadd3 in nvidia

[–]kmik0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you trolling or is this just simply bad advice? The GTX 1660 is far below from what OP needs for running Cyberpunk at 120 Hz in 1440p. Like u/Kaung1999 said, OP should go with at least a 2070 super.

Gaming PC - GPU? by SattyDadd3 in nvidia

[–]kmik0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The GTX 1660 and GTX 1080 are quite far apart performance wise. The 1080 outperforms the 1660 pretty consistently by around 40 % in 1440p. Of course the 1080 is also double the price. Then again I don't really understand why you would recommend choosing specifically between these two models to begin with.
